Dishwasher leaking from underneath unit
Spotted the source of the leak at the first heating element under the dishwasher. Removed the brass mounting nut and it was cracked. Replaced with new part from PartSelect.com and the leak was fixed. Apparently the heating element gets so hot it tends to crack the mounting nuts, which results in a leak. Delivery time for part said 3-5 days - mine arrived one day after ordered!

Water Leak in Dishwasher Drain Line
I woke up on Christmas Day to water pooling under the kitchen sink (I guess I made the naughty list last year). Upon inspection, I could see that the water connections for the faucet were damp. Since I had all the parts, I replaced the faucet and service lines. Once complete, there were no leaks so I turned on the dishwasher to double check for leaks in those lines. It was all dry when the dishwasher finished but the next morning, more water under the sink.
I proceeded to replace the water line to the dishwasher and ran it through another wash cycle. Still leaking.
I found PartsSelect online and order a new drain line for the dishwasher. To my amazement, FedEx dropped off my order the next morning........yes, the next morning.
It took five minutes to remove the old drain line and install the new one (just a worm clamp at each end). It would have been faster than that but I don't get up and down as fast as I use to.

dishwasher door was falling heavily down when pulled open because one of the two springs was broken
identified the correct part to order. when it came, I used a Phillips-head screwdriver to undo the two brackets that hold the unit into the bottom of the countertop so I could slide it out a few inches. once I determined which spring was broken, I pulled out the remaining part and replaced it with the new one -- hooking it first into the hold farthest back in the appliance and looping the longer end over the top of the swiveling catch device that holds the front of the spring. then pushed unit back under countertop and screwed two brackets back into place with the existing wood screws and screwdriver. piece o' cake!
