Replace black panel with a stainless steel panel.
The repair was simple. My husband replaced the panel in about 30 minutes. The dishwasher looks brand new and updated and it saved us about $600.

Dispenser latch had broken
We unscrewed the inner door panel and pulled it apart, disconnected the wiring, removed the screws holding the dispenser in place and swaped it out. One problem we had putting everything back together was that the latch for the door didn't line up and we couldn't shut the door but we simply unscrewed the door, readjusted the latch and put it back together. Works great now!

how to upgrade from black panel to stainless
First, turn the power off to the dishwasher. Then removed several screws that hold the panel in place. These are mostly on the side of the panel door. I then pulled the old panel and put the new one in.

Door would not close - latch broken
1. Turned off power. 2. Unscrewed ten screws holding inside of door in place. 3. Lifted cover enough to access latch - helpful to have someone to hold this while doing the job. 4. Disconnected old latch assembly on each side - this was the hardest part as they were stiff and needed to be pulled hard. 5. Attached new latch assembly. 6. Screwed door panel back on. 7. Switched power back on. So easy and saved about $150. This stuff is NOT HARD and I just wish more people had the gumption to do repairs themselves instead of paying 'experts' to do exactly the same job.

The wheel on the upper right rack had deteriorated and was in pieces
I uncliped the "stop" at end of wheel track and slid out the old defective wheel, replaced with the new wheel, which you guys sent to me in two (!)days, and simply slid the new wheel into the track and cliped it onto the rack. Done!
Saved around $100 repairing it myself!

Broken Wheel on Upper Rack
It was very easy to replace the wheel assembly. A single snap lever allowed removal of the broken assembly and the replacement assembly from PartSelect fit and snapped in place to complete the repair.

Wash arm holes had worn, preventing proper rotation due to limited force of water jets
Took off the small plastic nut -- you can do it with your fingers. If it's too tight, use a pair of pliers.Lift off the old arm, put on the new arm. Very simple. Takes 2 minutes.

Food debris on dishes; seeds stuck in spray arms
Remove mid and bottom rack. The nut on the bottom spray arm can be removed by hand; all screws are T-20; just hold on to the impeller to turn its screw. I keep a T-20 under the sink, which tells you something about how reliable we've found this model! Remove screws as you go down, replace parts as you go back up; assembly is reverse of removal, yadda, yadda. Don't miss opportunities to notice how Maytag keeps making small improvements to many of the parts, wonder whether in a few more years of purchasing replacement parts for this thing it will finally stop breaking. My wife informs me that plastic mesh filters like Maytag uses are something she buys for her lab as disposable single use items. We actually had a Bosch on order (metal filters) but I decided to give this unit one more infusion of parts. It's working better now, but I don't know how long it will last before something else gives out.
