The pulley from the motor broke. It cause the belt to stretch.
A burn smell was coming out from the bottom of the washer. I followed the instructions in the video. It was so easy. I have to add that I am a 45 year old woman. If I can do it anybody can! Thank you so much you saved me about 300 hundred dollars. My husband wanted to buy a new one.

Washer would not spin or agitate
Washer suddenly stopped during spin cycle. I removed belly from motor and found that the motor was slowly turning. Ordered new motor, installed it, and washer was good as new.

Washer motor was smoking. Replace the washer motor.
Simply follow the detailed instructions on the video (see video on page with part). The repairman in the video tucks the green ground wire under the motor plate/pad. Motor burnout
Unplug washer and shut water valves. Pry open the top cover then unscrew and remove the front cover. Tilt the washer back and prop it securely on blocks. Remove the drive belt, plastic motor cover and wiring plug. Remove two screws holding motor mounting plate to base of washer. On the bench, remove mounting plate from motor. Install new

motor on mounting plate - be sure to install all three motor bushings correctly. Install mounting plate onto washer base ensuring rubber bushings are installed correctly. Reattach plastic cover, wiring plug and drive belt. Carefully lower washer to the floor and attach front cover, then snap top cover into place. Plug in the washer, turn on the water and test run washer.

Maytag Atlantis part worked great
Washer would fill with water but would not agitate, spin or drain. Noted low humming noise and strong burning smell. Took front of washer off and noted smoke coming from motor. Took about 30 minutes reviewing the fix.com website one evening and with the help of their troubleshooting table, decided it was likely the motor and not the belt, transmission or pump. Motor arrived in 4-5 days and it took me about 1.5 hours to remove the old one and put the new one on but I was going very slowly re-lubing the bushings and making sure everything was in correct place.
