spin cycle did not work as well as it had in the past.
leaned the washer back so that we could get to belt on the bottom. Removed old belt. Installed new belt. Old belt was getting worn and stretched.

Machine would not spin during rinse cycle.
Had to replace the thrust bearing. Tilted machine on its back and removed the C clip that holds the bearing and drive pulley all together. Had to make sure the shaft was completely extended in the down position otherwise all the parts wouldn't all fit back on. Trickiest part was to figure out how the belt goes back on. Turns out it is very simple... just walk it back on to the drive pulley with a screwdriver as your turning the pulley.

water drained but it would not spin
I followed the supplied instructions and watched the video. I have told several people about this site. It is a great place to buy repair parts with great online support. The only tricky part was making sure you used the right shims to make the described adjustment. but the instructions were good so I knew what to do.
