Strange noise, strong shaking, or a cutting head that stops turning can point to a worn shaft assembly. The outer tube supports and protects the inner drive cable. Together, they carry power from the engine to the trimmer head. First remove grass and dirt from the head. Then check the clutch, drive cable, gear case, and connection points for damage. Use the complete tool model number to confirm the correct fit. Work only after the engine has cooled, and disconnect the spark plug wire. Keep track of all screws and clamps during removal. After the repair, check that the shaft is secure and the head spins without rubbing or binding.

I want to extend the straight shaft so I have more reach with my limb trimmer attachment ..will this work on Ryobi expand it shaft?
