Our ice funnel dispenser had cracked
We watched video for installation instructions. We had to use a flat head screwdriver to pry off the display panel instead of how the video instructed. This frig is 13 years old & made a little differently. We had some trouble getting the plastic wire connectors off the circuit board, & I broke one of the plastic clips on the board, but

we finally were able to release the board and proceeded to remove the dispenser without any issues. I then cleaned the funnel opening and we removed the broken part and replaced it with the new funnel part without any other problems. We installed the new part and reconnected the circuit board to the plastic wire connectors, then snapped the display panel into place. We plugged in the frig and moved it back into place.

Changed the ice funel
Had to use very small screwdriver. I took out the front panel. I didn't unplug the pc board. Unscrewed the ice funel bracket and changed it out. Five minutes.

Replaced plastic bottom grill and ice funnel
On our GE Monogram refrigerator, which has brushed stainless-steel doors, I replaced the black plastic bottom grill under the water dispenser, and the ice funnel, because both of them were covered with hard water mineral deposits. The instructions here were correct, and I won't repeat them, except to emphasize that it's critical to put the

funnel "finger" behind the electric actuator switch lever when you install it. The main reason I write is to explain how to deal with the fact that on the Monograms like ours, the steel freezer door covers the ice maker bezel. You actually have to remove the door skin to remove the bezel under it. That means unscrewing four screws on the top of the door, four screws under it, and maybe six more screws on the outside edge, accessible by opening the door and looking into the hinge area. With all of the screws out, you can use your fingers (wear gloves to prevent cuts) to gently flex the door skin off of the door, starting on the outside edge. It takes maybe five minutes to do. Set it somewhere safe, follow the other instructions on this site, then reinstall it, being careful to gently flex the metal skin over the water line at the bottom outside edge and a ground wire at the top. Put the screws back and you're done.
