Replaced plastic bottom grill and ice funnel
On our GE Monogram refrigerator, which has brushed stainless-steel doors, I replaced the black plastic bottom grill under the water dispenser, and the ice funnel, because both of them were covered with hard water mineral deposits. The instructions here were correct, and I won't repeat them, except to emphasize that it's critical to put the funnel "finger" behind the electric actuator switch lever when you install it. The main reason I write is to explain how to deal with the fact that on the Monograms like ours, the steel freezer door covers the ice maker bezel. You actually have to remove the door skin to remove the bezel under it. That means unscrewing four screws on the top of the door, four screws under it, and maybe six more screws on the outside edge, accessible by opening the door and looking into the hinge area. With all of the screws out, you can use your fingers (wear gloves to prevent cuts) to gently flex the door skin off of the door, starting on the outside edge. It takes maybe five minutes to do. Set it somewhere safe, follow the other instructions on this site, then reinstall it, being careful to gently flex the metal skin over the water line at the bottom outside edge and a ground wire at the top. Put the screws back and you're done.

Funnel extension tore a while ago. Grille was faded.
Lined up the slots in extension and pushed into place? Grille just lifts out and new one drops into place. Bulb sits aside the funnel. All three items took about 5 minutes to complete.

The grill at the base of our ice-maker had become discolored with unremoveable white calcium stains.
Our water leaves white calcium stains on black surfaces and we were unable to safely clean them from the bottom grate of our ice maker. The part arrived quickly and it was an exact match for the old part. I simply lifted the old one out and dropped in the new one. It took all of fifteen seconds. Problem solved!
