This genuine OEM dust adapter in your jointer plate allows you to attach various sizes of vacuum hoses to it for direct dust pick-up. It is part of the dust collection system, you can easily check if the dust adapter is damaged by visually inspecting it for signs of wear or deformations. If you find that it has become loose, fails to create a tight seal, or does not fit the vacuum hose sizes properly, it needs to be replaced. To remove the adapter, firmly pull it out from your machine. When installing the new adapter, insert it into the dust exhaust port on the right side at the rear of the base assembly until it clicks into place. Please keep in mind that this is sold separately from the dust attachment elbow and the dust bag.

Remove the four screws and carefully separate the casing at the trigger handle. Disconnect the terminals by lifting the switch slightly, just enough to remove the inside terminal. Needle nose pliers will make it easier to remove the terminals. Slip the cord protector over the new cord. Cut the two new wires to the proper length. I measured the old connectors for proper fit. Strip a half inch off the insulation, carefully crimp and solder the wires to each terminal, reconnect the terminals, reposition the cord protector, align and snap the casing back together, and replace the four screws. These double edged high speed steel blades keeps a sharp edge longer. Planer's knives are machined to make very precise cuts. Please note, this metal blade is sold individually. To replace the blades you will need a wrench. • Place planer upside down • Loosen the three nuts using the wrench • Rotate the blade guard downward • Carefully remove the blade by sliding it out of the holder • Slide the new blade sideways into the holder until it is against the end stop • Blade groove must be toward back of unit • Securely tighten the three nuts using the wrench supplied • Rotate the blade drum 180 degrees and repeat for other blade • Always replace both blades at the same time
