These OEM replacement carbon brushes are sold as a pair and include a coiled spring attached. These brush and spring assemblies are what deliver power to a rotary tool armature. The spring transfers power and helps to secure the brush tightly in place. These brushes are in constant contact with the armature, which causes them to wear over time, and is the reason you should also inspect the armature regularly as well. If the tool is overloaded this can also cause the springs to burn. When performing this repair, be careful not to over-tighten the brush caps because they can crack.

This lock assembly includes one collar and one pin. It assists in locking the spindle shift. Over time, the pin can deteriorate, which results in it slipping. The retainer can also break. For this repair, start by removing the collet and collet nut, followed by the collar on the front of the tool. You will then need to disassemble the housing. You will now need to lift the motor and switch assembly out of the housing. The lock pin and retainer are located at the front of the housing and will need to be removed. The new lock can now be installed inside the tool.

This part includes a set of two carbon brushes and two springs, sourced directly from the manufacturer. The spring bolts transmit power and hold the brush securely against the commutator. The brushes are consistently rubbing against the armature, and this will cause them to wear down over time. If the tool is overworked this can also burn the springs. For this repair, you will need to remove the old brushes, which are located behind the brush caps. There is one on each side of the tool. Installing the new brushes is simple. Line it up with the brush holder, insert it in and secure it with the cap, and the same steps are repeated on the other side.

This manufacturer-sourced replacement kit is designed for use with Dremel power tools and includes two (2) carbon brushes and two (2) brush holders, each equipped with metal springs and lead wires. Carbon brushes are essential components that conduct electrical current between stationary wires and the rotating motor. As wear items, they gradually degrade through use and friction, and will eventually require replacement to maintain tool performance. To complete this repair, you’ll need a hex key or Allen wrench. Begin by removing the screws that hold the tool’s housing together. Carefully separate the two halves of the housing to access the armature and brush holders. Remove the brush covers and take out the old brushes along with their springs. Install the new brush assemblies, reassemble the housing, and test your tool to ensure proper operation.
