Repair turntable that stopped rotating
This would be in the "very easy" category if I had first realized that I didn't have to dismount the microwave from the wall.
The drive motor is easily accessible by simply removing four screws in the metal base of the microwave; no need to take the microwave off the wall.
Two screws hold the motor in place and the power ... Read more is detached and attached via a simple in-line socket.
Unplug microwave from wall power outlet for safety; remove the metal base; remove two screws holding drive motor in; unplug it's power cord. Reverse procedure with new drive motor and you're done.

Drive motor for turntable very noisy.
The bottom of the microwave is dropped off by removing several screws. Open the microwave door. Remove the turntable plate and roller and then pull the drive flange off by pulling straight up on it. You may have to use a flat blade screwdriver to pry on the drive flange a little to loosen it. Once the bottom is off, the turntable motor is

Turntable stopped working on microwave

I removed the connector from the turntable motor and then removed the two screws holding the motor in place. Lifted out the glass turntable and lifted the coupler out. Reinstalled

Grinding noise from drive motor as the Microwave rotated. Microwave occasionally did not rotate.
Previous write ups mentioned various numbers of screws removed from the bottom of the microwave. This caused me some concern, however I removed a total of 5 screws to get to the drive motor, 3 on the front and one on each side. The back end of our appliance was mounted about 1 inch behind a tiled wall, which made it very difficult to get

to the two screws attaching the drive motor. I finally just strong armed the bottom plate down and was able to get the screws out and replace the motor as described by previous homeowners. Bottom line is this is a simple repair if your microwave is flush with the wall, and the oven is quiet again with the new drive motor. I took the old motor apart and found a planetary gear reduction system with lightweight plastic gears. No surprise that it gave up after about 12 years use. If your oven is growling at you go ahead and change out the drive motor and you should be squared away.
