The purpose of the Hanger Cap is to place on the end of your Trimmer shaft assemblies that have the optional of the multiple add-on attachments. When you are not using the other attachments you can hang them up and get them out of the way. You can also remove the lower shaft on trimmers that have a upper and lower shaft assembly and hang it up also.

Motor died, needed replacing

There's not much out there to tear the machine apart. I previously replaced the input gear assembly which meant taking everything apart. I was careful to take photos of how things looked before disassembling and that helped somewhat. It's not hard, you just need to be observant how the wires tuck into the slotted recesses so they don't bind when re-assembling. Housings may need some wiggling and jiggling to get aligned but if everything's in its place the exterior housings enclosing the motor assembly and the larger shells will go together nicely; if the parts don't seem to be going together right there's something in the way binding it up. If I had to do the entire process again it probably would take about 30 minutes but I'm slow at these things and it took more like an hour or more. Defective power cord

Remove all the case screws and then the plastic cover. Pay careful attention to where everything is located, switch, safety lever, etc. With a small screwdriver loosen the 2 screws on the terminal strip holding the power cord's black and white wires. Remove power cord. Install new power cord ensuring you match the black and white wires to the terminal strip you just removed. Tighten terminal strip screws so that wires will not pull out when you tug on them. Reassemble making sure the power switch, safety lever and power cord are in their correct locations and install cover. Insert screws and tighten. Note! To avoid cracking case do not over tighten.
