Replacing the spark plug should be part of your regular maintenance. How often to replace it depends on your model but is generally changed at least once a year or more, depending on use. Fuel Line Grommet

Tune-Up Kit

In order to keep your equipment running strong, doing regular maintenance is critical. Your small engine should have a tune-up once per year, which consists of replacing the most common wear parts. This OEM-sourced kit includes an air filter; spark plug and fuel filter. Replacing all the parts in this kit should not take any longer than five minutes. Start by installing the air filter. Remove the air filter cover and air filter. Place the new air filter on the filter case and place the cover back on. Next, replace the fuel filter. Remove the gas cap and use a wire hook to lift the fuel line from the tank. Remove the old filter and line up the new one onto the fuel line, making sure the retaining clamp fits over the nipple. Lastly, replace the spark plug by first removing the boot. Use a wrench to remove the spark plug. Before installing the new spark plug be sure to check the gap between the electrodes. Install the new spark plug into the cylinder and place the boot back on.

Fuel Tank Vent

This check valve or the fuel tank vent is connected to the fuel tank in the following products: hedge trimmer, leaf blower/vacuum, chainsaw, edger, engine, tiler, auger, water pump, chipper shredder, sprayer, and brush cutter. The check valve allows air into the fuel tank to prevent vacuum when the fuel is being fed through the fuel line. Tip: if the vent is clogged, your engine may stall. Bulb-Purge "snap-in"

If your engine is having trouble starting, you may be in need a new purge bulb. When the engine has been sitting for a while, unused, the fuel will drain and eventually dissolve out of the carburetor. The next time you go to use your equipment, the engine will not start until the carburetor has fuel in it. The purge bulb, also commonly referred to as a primer bulb, manually pumps fuel back into the carburetor, while purging air out. If the purge bulb is malfunctioning, you will need to pull the starter rope numerous times until the carburetor diaphragm can pump the right amount of fuel back into carburetor for the engine to start. This purge bulb is prone to hardening and cracking over time because it is in continuous contact with fuel and will need to be replaced.
