Wouldn’t start
Replaced fuel line and filter. Also replaced diaphragms, screens, float, needle and gaskets. It then started but wouldn’t keep running. I had to back out fuel air mix needle completely and spray carb cleaner in these holes. It then ran perfectly. Make sure you count the rounds they are backed off before removing. Read more...

This is a tank purge line, also known as a fuel line kit, and it is used with various lawn equipment. The line connects fuel from the tank into the carburetor, and from the primer bulb back into the fuel system. The extra fuel is forced through the line into the fuel tank. This tube is transparent, and has a diameter of 3/16 inches. Before making this repair, we recommend draining the fuel from your machine, and removing the spark plug.

If your engine is having trouble starting, you may be in need a new purge bulb. When the engine has been sitting for a while, unused, the fuel will drain and eventually dissolve out of the carburetor. The next time you go to use your equipment, the engine will not start until the carburetor has fuel in it. The purge bulb, also commonly referred to as a primer bulb, manually pumps fuel back into the carburetor, while purging air out. If the purge bulb is malfunctioning, you will need to pull the starter rope numerous times until the carburetor diaphragm can pump the right amount of fuel back into carburetor for the engine to start. This purge bulb is prone to hardening and cracking over time because it is in continuous contact with fuel and will need to be replaced. This part is sourced directly from the manufacturer and sold individually.

This part includes one purge bulb, also known as a primer bulb. It is supplied by the manufacturer to be a direct replacement for the original. The purge bulb is pressed, and this removes the air from the carburetor and supplies fuel into it. Without a functioning purge bulb, the user must pull the starter rope numerous times. Due to its rubber material and exposure to fuel, it has tendency to deteriorate over time, and can crack. A cracked purge bulb will make starting the engine very difficult. Before you begin this repair be sure to drain all the fuel from the tank. You will then remove the air filter cover, air filter, air filter base and the carburetor. Take note of the fuel lines and then remove them. Remove the metal plate that secures the primer bulb. Now do the same steps in reverse to install your new part.
