My free standing KitchenAid ice machine continues to make ice when bin is full. Is this a bin thermistor problem or an evaporator thermistor problem? Bin thermistor tests at 17000ohms at room temp and 35000 ohms in ice water. I have not tested the evaporator thermistor.

Hi Harry, Thank you for your question. If your ice maker continues to make ice when the bin is full, there are a few things you will need to check. Make sure the ice bin is level. If it is not, the ice maker will not work correctly and will continue to make ice. If the bin sensor is blocked or dirty, the ice maker will continue to make ice. If the sensor is blocked by a scoop or another item in the ice bin remove it. If the sensor is dirty, it can be cleaned with a soft towel and some soapy water. If the accelerated ice feature on your ice maker is on, then a greater quantity of ice will be made. We hope this helps! If you have any questions, please let us know.
