When connected to electricity the dryer heating element glows red hot and generates heat. When air is blown over it, it heats the air which is used to dry the clothes. The heating element fits inside the heater housing inside the dryer. Wear and tear on the heater coil from use will eventually cause the coil to break and the element to fail. When this part fails it can cease to produce any heat. Alternately, the coil could break and short to ground allowing the dryer to continue to heat even when turned off. The latter is a fire hazard and the dryer should be disconnected from power until the element is replaced. If the element coil breaks, the element needs to be replaced. This model is 11 by 5 inches with 5/16” terminals, metal and ceramic, and comes in black. It is sold individually.

Dryer would run, but not heat
Needed it running quick, so no diagnostics. Ordered one of everything that could fix problem (plus a new door catch). Tipped it onto it's back & popped the bottom cover off. Element, thermal cutoff, thermistor, and fuse. were right in front and held by 2 screws each (don't drop them, don't ask). A little bit tight inside, but no big issue. vacuumed the inside, replaced everything (it was the Heating Element, by the way), slapped the cover on, and put it back in its spot. works like it was new. Yes, I unplugged it first. Remember! Safety Third! Read more...

This is a genuine OEM ice maker assembly for your refrigerator. The ice maker makes eight cubes at a time, by filling the mold with water from the inlet valve, freezing the water until the cubes are formed, and then ejecting them into the storage bucket. This process will repeat until the ice bucket is full. If your device is not making ice cubes, the ice maker assembly may need to be replaced. Please ensure that you disconnect the power and water supply to your fridge before beginning this repair. This kit includes the fill cup, a four-pin wire harness adapter, and tube.

Ice maker stopped making ice
Loosened 2 screws on left side freezer wall. Disconnected wire harness. Took out ice maker. Made sure screws extended far enough out to fit the new ice maker over them. Connected the wire harness. Put ice maker onto the 2 screws. Tightened the screws. Within a few hours we had ice. NOTE: use a mirror or you will fish blindly trying to find and tighten the screws. With the mirror, it was easy. This part includes a dryer thermal fuse, also sometimes referred to as a thermal limiter, for dryers. This authentically sourced part is located on the exhaust duct and acts a safety mechanism that shuts off the power to the dryer when it overheats. This part can be tested for continuity between the two terminals, and if no continuity is detected, it will need to be replaced. The thermal fuse cannot be reset. Once the fuse opens, it needs to be replaced to get your dryer back up and running again.

noticed water was leaking in front of washer-right before we were leaving for vacation
Upon returning from vacation, we needed to do laundry-so I put some plastic under the washer and we did a load. The water was leaking from the seam between the lid and the back panel on the side with the hot and cold water connections- not the front. I removed two screws from the front bottom panel and two screws from the underside of the lid.Turning the washer on showed the leak was coming from the injection valve( it was brittle from age). The rubber injection valve was replaced and installed( using a little liquid soap to help the rubber hose to slip over the rubber injection valve) with a new clamp. The leak was fixed. Read more...
