Replaced broken line trimmer shield
This unit did not fit my exact model and required a mount over the top of the shaft. I fabricated what I needed in about 2hrs with some scrap metal and created a sort of pipe strap like you would use to hold 1/2" rigid pipe to the wall except mine only went 1/2 way around the pipe because the new shield went the other 1/2 way around. If y ou don't have fabrication skills then make sure your old version requires 2 screws (one on each side of the shaft) to mount. Mine didn't.

Also had to swap the line cutting blade. It fits both the left and right side of the shield for counter clockwise or clockwise rotation, BUT.... the blade mount is not symmetrical, it's an L shape so when installed on one side the blade cuts the trimmer line about 3/4" shorter than when installed on the other side. Not a deal breaker just a point. Would have been GREAT if the sharpened both the leading and trailing edges. Then it would have been truly symmetrical.
