Product Description

This is a genuine OEM thermistor with a wire harness included. The thermistor is a temperature sensor that helps to monitor and regulate the temperature inside your dryer. Some signs that you may need to replace this part include your dryer overheating, the dryer does not produce any heat, or your dryer shuts off too soon. The thermistor is located in the blower housing, and the tool required to complete the repair is a Phillips screwdriver. When I go to dry clothes, I power the unit up select on the Drum rotates. The cooling light remains on steady and the dry light is blinking. I’m thinking it’s a high limit sensor fail. What do you think? I was going to buy the whole three-piece kit from you, but I wanna get your opinion

Hi William, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, buying the mentioned sensor kit, part number FIX16878105, is the correct move. The flashing “Dry” light and solid “Cooling” light pattern indicate that the control board detected a safety-loop failure at startup, which is commonly caused by a failed or out-of-calibration thermistor or high-limit thermostat. Replacing the complete three-piece sensor kit as a matched set helps ensure a reliable repair. Before installing the new parts, thoroughly clean the dryer vent line and exhaust system, as restricted airflow and lint buildup are common causes of sensor failure. We hope this helps!
