Product Description

This genuine OEM sensor is also known as a moisture sensor or a humidity sensor. It is found underneath the lint filter in your dryer, and is used to detect the amount of moisture present in the drum. This is to prevent the dryer from running longer than necessary, and will shut off once your laundry has been sufficiently dried. If your dryer is shutting off too soon, or it is running excessively long, there may be an issue with the sensor and it should be replaced. Before beginning this repair, please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your dryer. If your dryer has two moisture sensors, we recommend replacing both at the same time to ensure even wear.

Hi Sandra, thank you for getting in touch. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest you check the thermistor, part number FIX16878105, first. The thermistor attaches to the blower housing and monitors and helps regulate the temperature inside the dryer. If it is faulty, you may need to replace it. If there is no issue with the thermistor, you may need to check the blower thermostat, part number FIX8747887. If the blower thermostat is not faulty, you may need to check the moisture sensor, part number FIX3529161. It is found underneath the lint filter in your dryer and is used to detect the amount of moisture present in the drum. This is to prevent the dryer from running longer than necessary and will shut off once your laundry has been sufficiently dried. If the dryer is not heating up, it may be due to the faulty moisture sensor. If the problem persists, you may need to check the gas igniter, part number FIX3527801. The gas igniter lights the gas burner to heat the dryer during the cycle. If it is faulty, the dryer will not heat up, and the igniter may need to be replaced. We hope this solves your problem!
