This lever assembly is a genuine OEM replacement part in a trimmer. Note that the spring for this assembly is sold separately. When the trimmer head is bumped on the ground, the lever assembly triggers the release of more line from the spool inside the head. A faulty lever assembly will result in difficulties feeding and advancing the line. The lever assembly may become faulty due to normal aging, exposure to harsh environmental conditions, or physical damage. To remove and replace it, first, ensure the trimmer is turned off and unplugged. Remove the trimmer head to access the lever assembly. Remove the spring and spool assembly. Unscrew the faulty lever assembly and replace it with a new one. Ensure it is securely fitted in place and reassemble the trimmer head components.

I had to replace my Lever assembly and ordered a new one. When taking the broken one off my spring popped off two before I glanced to see how it was on. Now I can't figure out how to put the spring back on under the lever. HELP....my grass is out of control.

Hi Donna, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, the spring goes between the spool and the cover. First, snap the spring in the cover. Install lever assembly inside the trimmer. Put a spool inside and close the cover. We hope this helps!
