High Limit Thermostat

Step 1 was most important: removed the screws on the back, to access the controller board and check for loose connections. The technical manual was inside that portion of the dryer, and the diagnostic sequence it described told me the part I needed. Step 2: remove the back cover.

3: disconnect the wires to the thermostat and the heater element.

4: pull out the enclosure that holds the heater element and thermostat.

5: remove old thermostat, pulling its clips off the heater lead first then sliding it out.

6: replace everything reversing above..
