Burner stopped working.
Disconnect the vent pipe from the blower motor, lift the cooktop out of the counter and place support under both ends of the cooktop. Remove six nuts from the sides of the cooktop housing then life off top. Identify the bad switch and replace. Time taken about 11/2 -2 hours.

Front dual element not working
Turn off the power to the cooktop. Disconnect the whole Jenn-air cook top from the exhaust pipe. Lift the whole cooktop vertically up from the counter top. place on the counter top. unscrew the screws on all four sides of the cooktop to remove the glass top from the cooktop. check with multi-meter to troubleshoot whether the burner eleme

nt is bad or the burner switch is. in our case only the switch was bad. Replace the bad switch with the new one Whirlpool Part # 71003634. re-place the glass top on the cooktop, re-insert the whole cooktop in the counter top whole and finally reconnect the exhaust pipe. Turn on the power. Good to go.
