This part includes two carbon brushes with wire leads and brush springs. Worn brushes are typically presented as a failed or underperforming motor. Carbon brushes are a part that commonly wears, so it is a good idea to have these on hand. They are essential for a properly running motor because they conduct electricity to the armature. For this repair, you will start by removing the first brush from the motor, using a screwdriver to remove the brush cap. Once the cap is removed, the brush can be removed. Align the new brush with the holder and then reinstall the cap. Repeat these same steps for the other brush.
