This is an OEM direct drive motor coupling, which provides a cushioned connection between the transmission and the motor shaft. This is the newer version of this part, made with new metal sleeves for added strength. It is located between the motor and transmission on direct drive washers with no belt. If the drive system seizes, the coupling is designed to break to prevent the drive motor from damage. Consequently, this part may need to be replaced as your appliance ages. Never overload your washer, as this can speed up its deterioration. Symptoms of a faulty motor coupling include a washer pumping but not spinning, slow spinning, the washer not agitating, and unusual noises. This coupling kit contains all the parts necessary to replace your existing direct drive motor coupling. Please note, that after replacing the motor coupling your washer may smell like burning rubber for the first few uses, this is entirely normal as the part becomes acclimated to the machine. Each is sold individually.

Washer would not spin or agitate
First, I found it very easy to follow the help on your web site to determine the most likely parts that would cause my problems. The direct drive motor coupling could be the cause of both problems. Also the agitator repair kit was the most likely cause of the agitator problem, So, I ordered both parts. When AI received the parts there were videos included instructing every detail for installation. I just followed the video for the direct drive motor coupling and both problems were solved with the one part. It took about 30 minutes and was a simple installation. .Thanks for your good service. This is a genuine OEM replacement clutch assembly for your washing machine. A clutch assembly, also known as a clutch or a washer clutch, is responsible for spinning the tub during the spin cycle. If the clutch becomes worn and is no longer operating properly, your clothes will remain soaked after the cycle is finished. Some other signs it is time to replace the clutch is if your washer is noisy while running, there is a burning smell, or the machine is shaking excessively. This kit comes with the clutch, brake cam driver, spring, retaining ring, and a nylon anti-rattle clip. Before beginning this repair, be sure to disconnect the power and water supply to your machine. Depending on your washer model, you may need an additional person to help lower the machine onto its back, as access to the drive shaft to change the clutch assembly may be easiest through the bottom of the appliance.

There are many symptoms that may indicate an issue with your water inlet valve. These can include your washer not filling with water, it will not stop filling, the washer is leaking, or it is both filling and draining at the same time. You can test if your valve is faulty two different ways. The first is to disconnect the power while the washer fills, if water continues to fill the tub, then the valve should be replaced. The second way is to use a multimeter to test for continuity on the valve solenoids. If you do need to replace the water inlet valve, this is a genuine OEM part that has two ports and is compatible with half-inch ID hose. Before beginning your repair, please be sure to disconnect the power and water supply to your washing machine.
