If your gas range will not heat up, is not coming up to temperature, the igniter is not glowing, or it glows but will not light, you may need to replace the igniter. This part is a genuine OEM flat style oven igniter and includes two ceramic wire nuts to assist with installation. The igniter is used to light the oven burner in your range by igniting the gas. Before beginning this repair, please be sure to disconnect the power and gas supply to your range. When handling this part, be careful not to touch the black element on the igniter, as this section is very fragile. The igniter measures approximately 3.72 inches in length, with 18 inches of wire lead, and has an amperage range of 3.2 to 3.6.

This is a temperature sensor for a range. The sensor is what detects the temperature inside the oven and is often replaced when the oven is having heating issues. Please note that the wire connector may be different from the original; if this applies to your part, cut the quick connect and wire together with porcelain wire nuts. For this DIY repair, you will need a Number 2 Phillips or Number 2 square-head screwdriver and possibly wire strippers. Make sure to disconnect the power before installing this part. You will need to pull the range from the cabinet to gain access to this part from the back of the unit.

  • Little to no heat when baking
  • Oven is too hot

Oven not heating to the set temperature
Suspected sensor based on above problem. The biggest problem was not knowing how hard it would be to get the built-in oven from its slot. Once it moved an inch, it was easy. The sensor inside the oven is a little hard to access because of the oven door. I would recommend a magnetic screw driver to make it easy to hold the sensor screws and allow reaching in the oven with one hand. Read more...

This is an oven bake element for a range, sourced directly from the original manufacturer. It is located at the bottom of the oven, responsible for supplying heat for the baking function. If your oven is not baking properly or at all, the bake element may have burned out. The terminals are male 1/4-inch spade connectors. The wires push onto the heating element connectors. For this straightforward repair, you will need a number two Phillips screwdriver or a number two square head screwdriver, and possibly a pair of needle-nose pliers. Be sure to disconnect the power to the range before you begin troubleshooting or replacing this part.
