The gasket for your freezer door is used to provide a tight seal, preventing the cold air from escaping and warm room-temperature air from getting inside the freezer. If the gasket becomes torn, cracked, or otherwise damaged, that seal is compromised, and the gasket will not work as intended. Signs that you need to replace the gasket include sweat or condensation on the freezer door, frost buildup, inconsistent temperatures, and the door not sealing shut properly. This is a genuine OEM replacement gasket that is white in color.

If you have frost building up in your freezer, or the temperature in your fridge is running too warm, there may be an issue with the defrost thermostat. This thermostat sits on the top of the evaporator and protects it from overheating when the defrost cycle is running. It does this by regulating the temperature in your appliance, and should shut off the heater once the frost has melted off the coils. If you need a new thermostat, this is a genuine OEM replacement part. Please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your fridge before beginning this repair.

The key would not work, but unplugged the freezer and moved it outside where it could thaw out. After the freezer thawed out, the door could move and the key could then turn the latch. When we moved the freezer and jiggle it from side to side, it also loosened up the door. Read more...

If your refrigerator is not maintaining a consistent temperature, or there is frost building up, you may need to replace the defrost timer. The 120V defrost timer is a genuine OEM part that acts like a clock, and continuously cycles through a cooling and defrost setting. It does this to maintain the desired temperature and prevent frost from building up, which would decrease the efficiency of your fridge. You can use a multimeter to test if the timer is defective. Please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your fridge before beginning this repair. Depending on your model, the defrost timer can be found either on the ceiling or rear panel of the refrigerator.

This door gasket helps keep your freezer cold by sealing the edge of the door. If your freezer isn’t staying cold or the seal looks worn, replacing it can help. It’s easy to install and fits around the door to keep cold air in. Just note—clamps aren’t included, so you’ll need to order those separately if needed.

The 115-volt evaporator fan motor is in the back of the freezer section and circulates air over the coils. These coils will convert the heat into cool air, which is then circulated. If your freezer is noisy or too warm from the motor not working, you will need to replace this part. It is suggested to replace the thermistor when replacing the evaporator fan. This is a genuine OEM part – note the screw holes in the motor are not threaded from the factory, use your old screws. Please remember to disconnect the power to the refrigerator before starting your repair.

This is the door gasket for your freezer. It is white in color and made of rubber. The door gasket covers the circumference of the freezer door and creates a seal. If the gasket is loose or worn out, cold air can leak out of the freezer, and it can force the refrigerator to work harder to remain cool. If you notice that your freezer is running for longer than normal, of if there is excessive frost buildup, you may need to replace the door gasket. This part is sold individually and it is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

Ice build up in the evaporator.
Im from Mexico, I had to buy all the parts in US, I made an overhaul to my refrigerator, also I replace the main control board wich has the defrost timer integrated in this mother board, tooks me more de 2 session of 2 hours each one to complete the whole reparation. The most difficult part was remove and install the defrost heater element, because you most handle with the evaporator, need patience and time, also was difficult for me to replace the main control box because the access to it in the bottom of the fridge, too norrow the space and too short the harness cables that connect to it. gasket, defrost control, crisper support and bulb, very easy. excellent service from this site. After almost 3 weeks the service guy I called at the begining is still looking for the parts, Im glad I did my self. Read more...
