Multi Rib Belt - 92-1/4"
★★★★★
★★★★★
(14)
Fix Number FIX346995
Manufacturer Part Number 341241
This multi rib belt is an OEM replacement part for a dryer. It attaches to the drum, idler pulley, and motor pulley, and is responsible for spinning the drum. Over time, the belt can become frayed, brittle, and inflexible. If you can hear the motor running, but the drum does not turn, it is likely that the belt is broken. Other symptoms of a broken multi rib belt include unusual noises, failing to start, no heat, a burning smell, and an unresponsive touchpad. Depending on the model, you will find the belt by looking behind the front panel or under the main top of the dryer. This belt is 1/4-inches wide, has a length of 92-1/4-inches, and has four ridges and three groves on the belt. Each belt is sold separately.

M Series New Style Coil Kit
★★★★★
★★★★★
(1)
Fix Number FIX334310
Manufacturer Part Number 279834
This OEM kit comes with two ignition coils (one three-terminal boost/hold coil, and one two-terminal secondary coil). Usually only one of them burns out, but you should replace them as a set as both have to be operational for the gas valve to open. The primary purpose of the part is to open the gas valve and allow the gas to enter the burner. This is a safety mechanism to make sure that there is never an unsafe buildup of gas inside the appliance. You will find the coils attached to the dryer gas valve. This is not an uncommon repair; it can fail due to normal material fatigue over time. To test your current parts, watch the burner, and if the igniter glows for a while and then shuts off without the gas is igniting, it usually means one of these coils is bad.

Dryer did not stay hot
To avoid the mistake I made, make sure you pop the small, square white plug towards the bottom left on the front of the dryer. This gives you a view into the heater so you can see if the igniter and other components are working. In our case, the heater would ignite and stay on for 5 minutes and then go out. As noted on this site, 50% of the time it is the gas coils so we tested them and they tested fine cold. However, testing all of the other electrical components and they tested out as well so we purchased the coil kit (again 50%). Following one of the many videos on the site, it was quite simple to get to the coils. Unplug and turn off the gas at the wall. Unscrew the two screws in the lint trap and pop up the lid with small flat screwdriver as there is a catch on each side under the lip in the front. With the top lid up, pull up and out on the front panel, the drum will stay in place but dip as you remove the front panel holding the drum in place. Reach under and to the right to remove the belt around the drum so you can remove the drum. The coils are right in front and are easily removed with a phillips screwdriver to remove the cap holding the coils. The coils are keyed and just slide out and into place. Replace the cap and reverse the steps. However, while you have the dryer apart, it is a good idea to remove all of the extra lint as we also did the same removing the back panel and the lint trap apparatus. We had quite the collection of lint and stuff in the blower that could never be removed without taking this apart so I highly suggest you take a look. It is about 10 phillips screws holding everything in place. With the coils in place, the dryer starts hot and stays hot. Repaired in under an hour and under $25 thanks to this site! Read more...

Dryer was screeching
Very simply followed the instructional videos on the website. Their step by step instructions were easy to follow and the video detail was great. I found the website in a search for diagnosing a noisy dryer. Once I saw the videos and ordered the parts I couldn't wait to complete the repair. It took less then an hour and the dryer runs fine. I hope to get many more years out of it and have no fear that in the future I can complete other repairs if need be. Read more...

Dryer leaving rust streaks on white laundry
The video was exactly right for installing the upper drum glide. Getting the front off of the machine took less than 5 minutes. The old glide and felt peeled off easily. I used a putty knife and a file rasp to remove the old glue. Used denatured alcohol to wipe away any residual dust and pieces of glue. Applied the glue in two parallel lines where the new glides and pad install. Waited about a minute for the glue to get tacky, then placed new part on the upper door opening. To hold it down, I used an adjustable 1.5 inch wide nylon tie down strap around the entire circumference of the door opening and ratcheted it down tight for overnight. Next morning took off the strap and repair was tight. If you are going to replace the upper glide, go ahead and do the lower seal as well. If the upper is worn out, the lower will be worn out of shape and won't seal right with a new one only on the top. Repair time 30 minutes from open to close, with 12 hours glue drying time in between. Read more...

Oor dryer would not get hot.
I opened the bottom section and watched as the igniter got red hot as it should but the gas valve did not open. I wired around the sensor and the gas valve opened and the fuel ignited. VERY IMPORTANT: DO NOT RUN YOUR DRYER IN THIS STATE: IT WILL BLOW UP!! I did a VERY short test, then ordered the new sensor. Just one screw holds the sensor (as shown in the Parts video). One screw out, new sensor, one screw in and our dryer is back in full and proper running order. Read more...

REAR DRUM SUPPORT ROLLER SQUEALING AND WOBBLY ON SHAFT
First unplug Dryer. Use putty knife to pop top of dryer(compressing clips). Lift top up and let it rest on wall or cabinets. Unscrew two small screws holding front panel to side panels(I used a 1/4" screw driver). Be sure to carefully unhook any wires from clips on the side panel and move front panel to the right side of dryer and securely support against dryer, on the right side. With a long sleeve shirt on, reach through the bottom of dryer and take the tension off the belt which turns the drum. Lift the drum out of dryer. Set the belt aside. The wheels are held in place with C clips, these clips can be removed with a small screw driver and a pair of needle nose pliers. There is a washer on both sides of the wheels. Save these for the reinstall. I used some lithium grease on the shafts and then installed the wheel, the washer and then C clips. Used a pair of pliers to snap in place the C clips. Put the tub back in place, and make sure it turns. You should be able to tell if it is in the correct position. Slip the belt over the tub and the put the belt on the motor's pulley and put the tension back on the belt. Put the front panel back in place, note the clip at the bottom of the dryer and that the front panel has openings that will match up with them. Screw back the two screws. Slowly bring the top of the dryer back to it's place noting that there are some clips to align up with along with some small studs. Read more...
