This chrome drip bowl is an OEM approved replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer. Drip bowls are a part for your cooktop, positioned underneath the burner to catch spills. This drip bowl fits under 8-inch burner elements and has a diameter of approximately 10-inches. It is common for the manufacturer to switch up designs, so it may not match your current part, however searching using the correct model number will ensure proper fit and function. Drips bowls are prone to wear and tear and can be a fire hazard if not replaced when needed. It is also a quick, easy, and cheap way to give your appliance a fresh new look. Each drip bowl is sold individually, so if you are interested in replacing your other drips bowls, they need to be ordered separately. This is also an opportune time to inspect the terminals for corrosion or damage, and the condition of the burner. No tools are required for installation, simply line up the hole on the bowl with the terminal block and drop it into place. Give your new drip bowl a regular cleaning with warm water and soap to help it last as long as possible.

The drip bowl is used for electric ranges or cooktops with the coiled style burners, to catch any drips, spills, or crumbs that may occur while cooking. If your bowls have become discolored, corroded, difficult to clean, or otherwise damaged it may be time to replace them. This repair is easy and does not require any tools to complete the job. Ensure that all burners are turned off and cool to the touch before starting. First you need to lift up and disconnect the burner from the socket. While you have the burner out, it is a good time to check it for any signs of damage. Look at the terminals for any signs of arcing or burning. If you notice this, you will want to replace both the element and the receptacle it plugs into. Remove the old drip bowl by pulling it out. Then insert the new one by lining up the small hole on the side with the element block. Ensure that it is siting flat and then plug the element back into the socket. Please note that the manufacturer has substituted this part, and it no longer has a solid bottom. It is not recommended to cover the hole with products like aluminum foil, as it can trap heat or melt, becoming a fire hazard. As it is an OEM part, it ensures it will fit your model. The drip bowls are sold individually, chrome in color and about 8 inches in diameter, made to fit under a 6 inch burner element.

Burner would not heat up and the cook top on light would not turn off.
First turn off breaker. Pull out stove and unplug. There was about 8 screws on the panel on the back side of the control panel. Remove panel. Remove knob on the bad control and there is 2 screws behind knob. Remove those 2 screws and take the new control and remove 1 wire at a time from old switch to new one then put back together. This surface burner switch, also known as an infinite switch, controls the heat level of stovetop burners. When you turn the knob, the switch adjusts the power to the burner for precise temperature control. If your burner won’t heat properly, overheats, or stays at a fixed temperature, the switch may need replacement. Compatible with various ranges and cooktops, this part is sold individually and does not include mounting hardware. To install, disconnect the appliance from power, remove the control knobs and panel, then use a screwdriver and pliers to replace the switch, following a wiring diagram for proper connections.

Rusted gas burners
Removed 4 burners from cooking module.A hammer works from the bottom of the burner to loosen up all the rust.Cleaned all the rust off the burner plate. Before installing the new burners. I filled the inside bottom cavity with muffler repair paste from Auto Zone.It comes in a plastic container. The purpose is to keep the burner from rusting over time when hot and exposed to air and failing again.Installed the burners in the pan and coated the exposed metal with same repair paste.Let the unit dry for 2 days.Installer ignitor parts.Installed gas feed tubes, Ground wire from both ignitor base screws to bottom cover screw. The purpose is to assure a good ground to base.Re-connected feed wire to ignitor base plugThe biggest cause of module failure is rust. Placed units back in the unit and no problems. All four burners fired right up.$190.vs $600 new modules. This will probably last for years.Jen Air is not going to be very happy that I won't be buying their whole module replacement package @ $300 each every three years. If you pay 3 grand for a cooktop it should last longerThanks guys for making individual parts available. It takes a little time but, in the long run, it's worth it!
