If the oven in your gas range is not heating, there may be an issue with your igniter. This part is used to light the oven burner by igniting the gas. If you notice that it is glowing, but there is still no heat in your oven, your igniter may not be strong enough and needs to be replaced. This genuine OEM parts kit includes a mounting bracket, a wire connector with a plug, and the igniter which measures about 3-3/4 of an inch. Before starting this repair, please ensure that you disconnect both the power and the gas supply to your appliance. Note that you may need to splice the connector plug to the range wiring using porcelain wire nuts. When completing this repair, please be very careful not to touch the black element part of the igniter as it is very fragile.

This part is used to create a spark that lights the flame for the surface burner on your gas range. If the igniter is glowing but will not light, you may need to replace the electrode. When the burner knob is depressed and turned, this part is used to create a spark that lights the gas, providing the flame for your burner. If the igniter glows but will not light, it should be replaced. The electrode measures approximately 1.5 inches in length and is located under the burner. This part has a male spade terminal, and the mounting bracket included, but if a new wire lead is required it will need to be purchased separately. Please be sure to disconnect the power and gas supply to your range before beginning this repair.

This igniter is specifically used to ignite the broil element. The igniter pulls current from the ignition circuit, the more current it pulls the hotter the element gets. When it starts to glow and it reaches a certain temperature the gas valve will open and this igniter will create the spark needed to light the gas. When you are installing this replacement part you will need to reuse the original mounting bracket, and you will need a screwdriver. This ignitor is approximately 7.5 inches in length, it is flat in style, it has a 5-1/4-inch ceramic block, and it features 12-inch wire leads. Be careful not to touch the black element as it is very fragile. Before starting this repair make sure you have shut off the gas supply and unplugged the appliance.
