Washer not agitating
Washer was not agitating. My husband did not have a clue what to look for, but he took it apart and noticed two of the four directional cogs were stripped. Did an internet search and found the part on your website and thought we would give it a try since the part/shipping was under $20. The parts came in three days and my washer lives on. Was ready to get a new one since it is 18 years old, but I will not wait. Excellent website with all instructions and parts breakdown of the washer.

Agitator didn't move
Inserted a straight slot screwdriver into the small opening between the Fabric Softener Dispenser and the Agitator Assembly. Twisting the screwdriver slightly, causes the dispenser to separate from the agitator exposing a 7/8" bolt. Using the proper socket, removing the bolt allows for the removal of the complete agitator assembly. Reverse this process to install the new complete agitator assembly.

The top agitator was not spinning
I popped the dispenser cap off, pulled off the plastic cover that sits on top of the agitator directional cogs assembly, and used a socket wrench with 2 extensions on it to unscrew the nut holding the assembly in place. I misplaced my socket screwdriver and rather than try to buy a nutdriver that matched the size, I just bought a little 3/8" socket extension kit (I needed about 8" of length to be able to use a normal socket wrench). My hands are pretty big so I just had to use pliers to pull the agitator cogs assembly out. Next I just turned the assembly upside down, slipped the plastic ring off that holds the cogs in place, and put the new cogs in place of the old ones. Reassembly was just as easy. The job took about 15 minutes, and once everything was back together the agitator worked like it was brand new.

Replace Agitator kit
Removed top agitator bolt lifted agitator out and replaced ring and geared dogs. replaced Agitator top swirl vanes. It would have been nice if the kit included agitator grease and a new bolt and washer.

agitator bumping and knocking
I removed the agitator top cap first. I reached inside and removed plastic cap. I then removed the 7/16 bolt inside the agitator and lifted it out of the machine. I put my foot on the bottom part of the agitator and pulled the top part off. I removed the plastic bushing in the bottom part and then removed the plastic bushing with the dog ears and the bolt. I used some appliance grease on the bushing on the bottom part and slid the top part of the agitator back in place and replaced the 7/16 bolt. It worked like a charm. My wife says I'm her hero. Thanks for making it so easy.

The upper agitator would not engage (would spin freely in both directions)
I simply watched the brief video supplied on both the page as well as my emailed receipt and performed the steps as directed. There were no deviations required... it was exactly how the video described it. Honestly, I expected a more lengthy and complicated repair!

Washer was making an awful screeching noise when agitating
I turned off and disconnected the water lines (have a bucket ready) and tipped the washer on its back. I followed along with the provided video that was super helpful. Disconnecting, moving the washer, and reconnecting everything took longer than the repair. Very satisfied with this repair!

Loud banging during spinning
Followed video provided by Part Select. Video made it look easier than it was but was very thorough and I was able to accomplish repair in less than an hour! The agitator before repair would bounce up and down when I pressed hard and let go. After repair it was much tighter!! Evidently this is a common problem with this design of Whirlpool washers!

machine wobbled violently
followed video instruction that came with part. Previously watched youtube video (there are several, the low production videos are well worth viewing over the professional types). It was a breeze, other than the videos saying one person could do all four. When you get to the last rod, it is more difficult to lift the tub to insert the final rod in the round holder. I asked my wife for assistance.
