washer would not spin or agitate
I first took the 2 screws out and disconnected the wires, I got my parts ordered and when they came in I put it back together then plugged th wires back in. I really could not believe that I could do something of this nature but when I started it was easy. My boyfriend wanted to take the washer to a repair shop, but I said first I will take a look and see if it will be worth saving. Otherwise I will junk it. It cost me with shipping costs 41.00 I am very proud of my self.
But I read other peoples experience on fixing the same problem that I had so I gave it a try.
I will not hesitate to do other jobs myself. Doreen Finlaw

Washing machine making a grinding noise
Purchased and installed PS1485646 COUPLING, MOTOR (Direct Drive Coupling). We googled "Washing Machine making a grinding noise. Several people suggested coupling probably broken. We located some instructions online regarding dis-assembly, sure enough, the coupling was broken. We ordered the part from Partselect.com. It arrived in three days, replaced the broken coupler. Washing machine back in business for around $20. Hooray! Thanks, Partselect!

Despenser fell into drum an cracked, ther after it would not stay on the agitator
Actually I had been out shopping , came home, and my husband suprised me by having it done.
The ease and quickness that we esperienced in ordering and recieving the part was quite remarkable.
We use all Sears appliances and they are all about 15 yrs old and still in very good service,
Other than the despenser... we had no other
operational problems.
It was the personal online help that was the most surprising.. what a great thought. They found my part and part # so quickly.

The washer would drain, but was screaming while doing nothing else.
The tough part was replacing the front cabinet.
I did consult the video for help on replacing the clutch spring.
Thank you for that bit.
I admit to taking too much apart, most of the cabinet back can be left alone.
Some of the plastic wire keepers/routers suffered, as well as the console hinges.
The newly reassembled washer works without a hitch, and truely it took me about 4 hours over several days to dissamble and reassemble.
It is louder in the audible range than before, but very serviceale for another 20 years, saints willing.

Leaking water pump
Tipped the washer (combined, stacked washer and drier)back against the wall at a 45 degree angle and braced it up for safety. The pump is located at the front and bottom of the washer. Access is cramped. Removed the spring hose clamps with pliers, disconnected the hoses and released the metal pump attachment springs. Pump came off the drive shaft with a good pull. Reinstalling was more trouble due to the cramped access. The shaft needed to be sanded and lubricated with silicone before the new pump would slide on. It required a fair amount of force to get the pump in position, reconnect the hoses and the clips holding the pump. The top clip was the most difficult. Repair successful.

We had water leaking all over the floor
After determining where the leak was coming from I searched the web for help. Your website was the most helpful. I used some of your previous client comments to help me fix my washing machine. After trying without any luck in removing the broken pump I referred to your repair stories and determined that I would need to apply a little more force. Using a screw driver and hammer I pried off the face of the existing pump, then I used pliers to pull out the impeller, after that I was able to remove the remaining piece of the pump. After that I sanded the shaft, applied some vaseline and then installed the new pump. It was very easy once the broken part was removed.

direct drive washing machine not spinning
Direct drive, no belt. Motor sounds like it's spinning but the agitator is not. Bought the coupling (that goes between the motor and the transmission) and replaced it in less than 15 minutes. Two screws and two clips to open the cover. Two clips to move the water pump out of the way. Two screws and two clips to take out the motor. Replace the coupling and reverse the steps.

the washing machine would pump the water out, but the agitator would not spin, and it was making noise.
The video that was shown about how to perform the repair was spot on. I wasn't sure exactly what part I needed. I took the advise from you stating that these symptoms I described usually meant that the part I ordered was the correct repair In 65% of the cases. I was delighted to see that when I followed the instruction video, and the motor was removed, there was my coupling, In several pieces. At that point I knew that I ordered the correct parts.

Retainer clip for the pump missing, caused pump to fail
Pulled hoses off, unclipped the remaining retainer clip, slid old pump off. Slid new pump on replaced the old retainer clip and put the new one on, replaced the 2 hoses, done. It took mabey 10 min.
The part got there in less that 24 hours from the time I placed the order, with standard shipping! I was impressed.

I noticed that in the spin cycle the machine did not sound like it was suppose to. So I took the time and watched it go thru the steps and saw that it was not spinning.
Went on line and ordered the piece I need. I got my socket set out, held the center piece in place then with the socket unscrewed the bolt. Popped the plastic washer off put the agitator clips in, put the plastic washer on and bolted it back together and was done. Easy as 1, 2, and 3.
