The repair was very simple. I removed the agitator cap with a small screw driver, removed the retainer screw with a socket set tool. I removed the top agitator, lifted the cam and removed the old worn directional cogs installed the new ones. I reassembled the agitator. All of 10 minutes.... Very easy

Fabric softener dispenser simply lifts off the top of the agitator. Then, a flat head screwdriver, tucked anywhere under the edge of the cap, lifts/pries it off. Then drop a 1/2" drive extension(no socket as it simply is the extension itself) into the plastic "nut" and remove it while holding onto bottom of agitator with your other hand. Lift it out, replace the cogs and reverse for reassembly. Total time less than 5 minutes, including shipping was $10.50 for cogs - repair #4 completed thanks to the fine folks at PartSelect! PS - part arrived at my door less than 24 hrs after ordering it even tho I requested 2-3 day shipping.

Removed the agitator with a socket wrench and replaced cogs as directed in repair video.

I used a nut driver to remove the screw that held the to part of the agitator onto the bottom part. I then took out the worn out directional cogs and replaced them with new ones and re-assembled the agitator and was back in business. The agitator now works the way it should. Easy fix. The only negative part of this experience was that the shipping was twice as expensive as what the parts cost. Very fast shipping from PARTS SELECT .

replaced missing screw and pad and now machine works perfectly

First, I unscrewing the single bolt which keeps the two part agitator in place (agitator bolt). Second, I pulled the entire agitator out from the machine. third, I then seperated the top and bottom parts of the agitator. forth, I removed the old worn out "Agitator Direction Cogs". Fifth, I then inserted the new Agitatpr Direction Cogs"s. Six, I reassembling the top and bottom parts of the agitator. Seven, I reinstalled the reassembled agitator back into the machine. Eight, after inserting and tighting up the agitator bolt with a socket rench, and tured the machine on, it work like it was new again. .

Popped off top of softener cup. Pulled out screen. Used nutdriver to back out the only bolt holding the agitator on. Pulled it off popped out plastic "gears" and popped new ones in. Put back in reverse order. Done in 5 minutes....worked perfectly! Easy!!! Thanks !!

Removed fabric softener dispenser. Inserted screwdriver into slot on side of cover that is on agitator and pried off. Used socket extension to unscrew bolt inside agitator. Lifted out and slid off plastic ring holding agitator cogs . Replaced cogs in the same direction they came out. Since these instructions were here on site at the time I ordered the parts, it made the job very simple and fast...the order came very fast too.

basically pop off the top spindle cover, reach in and pull off the water cap from the agitator cog cover, unscrew the bolt holding the cog holder and pull the agittator assembly up and off the machine. Remove the piece holding the gogs in place and replace cogs making sure to put them back in the same direction as they came out. Turn the agitator upside down and stick the piece holding the cogs in and snap it in. Replace all components in reverse order they were removed, and there you are. Works great.

Removed the fabric cone from center of agitator pop out the plastic cover inside, remove bolt in center pull on agitator, remove cam holder and replace cams.
repeat process to re assemble

After reading everyone elses stories, I purchased all new springs(5), new spring brackets(one of mine was rusted really badly)and all new wear pads(two sets of 3pcs each). The rusted spring bracket was the most time consuming as the screw was rusted into the bracked so I had to drill it out. Other than that, the actual spring replacement was easy. Took maybe 10 minutes. The wear pads were another story. I'm a pretty good mechanic and I had a bit of a struggle getting the old pads out. I used a long, flat head screwdriver to pry them out. Once they were out the new ones weren't too tough to get back in. Took about 20 minutes all together. I stongly recommend watching the video on removing the washer cabinet first. It will save you some time. Acutally, watch the videos on all of the parts to simplify the process. Oh and by the way, all of my washer problems are gone. Well worth my time and $70 in parts. I noticed the agitator didn't "lock up" in one direction to properly agitate the load (which in turn "agitated" my girlfriend. I took the agitator apart to find the dog ears were worn. I ordered some new ones at a cost of about $12 delivered fed-ex and had the new dog ears installed in about 15 minutes saving me a bag of money from the repair man.

Removed agitator according to instructions, although upper and lower agitator did not want to separate. I used a steel rod and hammer to separate them by hitting lower agitator where bolt goes through. After removing and replacing old cogs, cog holder had to be tipped upside down to insert in agitator. I used a small dap of toothpaste to hold retainer in place while I inserted it in agitator. Works great now.

I went on line to find out how take the adjetator apart. You just stand on the adjetator and pull the top off. Very simple. Once that wss apart I cleaned the dog area of dirt and old pieces. Install new dogs and put it back together. I was trying to make much harder than it was. Piece of cake.
