MVWX655DW0 Maytag Washer - Instructions

Royal pain getting the wash plate off. I'm 6 foot 215 lbs with muscular arms( beer belly too) and I could not get it to come off. Put hay bail twine around the edge and pulled up so hard the entire machine came off the ground. Luckily I am married. Yep I pulled one end of the string and her the other and it flew off. Part select was $10 cheaper than whirlpool and was a perfect match. I might order another to have because like stated earlier I'm married. She is married to me and the washer and dryer.

Tip the washer on its back remove the agitator install new one under 15 minutes

I ordered a lid switch because the washer wouldn't agitate. Most reviews indicated that was the problem. While waiting for the part to arrive, I discovered the transmission to be of fault.I let parts select know that I no longer needed the part. Parts Select gave me an immediate refund no questions asked and before I returned the part to them. That is customer service!! I will use Parts Select for all my future purchases. First problem I found, feed hose has cone screen . this was half clogged with black debris ,from deteriorating feed water hose ,(replace hose).old valve did not have internal filter inside port, but new one did. When removing old valve. lift up out of feed ports. Look for black rubber debris, from tube seals floating in box. You can remove particles with Q-tip and a pair of tweezers. After that, I have full flow. Great looking part, Fast delivery. 5 stars.

Removed 5 screws on back, released 2 retention clips on front, lifted top of washer to expose lock assembly, removed 2 screws holding lock assembly in place followed electrical line back to plug behind control panel plugged new lock in, and reassembled in reverse order. Done!

Followed instructions.

Replaced each hose. Did discover that either hose can be used for hot or cold water lines. No longer required to label hot and cold replacement hoses.

Took the Cover off and installed belt.

I turned off and disconnected the water lines (have a bucket ready) and tipped the washer on its back. I followed along with the provided video that was super helpful. Disconnecting, moving the washer, and reconnecting everything took longer than the repair. Very satisfied with this repair!

Spin indicator light was illuminated but machine was repeating rinse cycle rather than spinning water out of clothes. Replaced the pulley and drive coupler, thinking there was a mechanical problem. Video instructions were great but old pulley and drive coupler looked perfect so replacing them did nothing. Next I replaced the washer actuator (shifter), thinking that was the reason for no high speed spin. Easy job, as shown in the video, but it also did nothing. The problem turned out to be a failure in the control panel, probably resulting from years of vibration. Decided to stop chasing my tail and bought a new washer.

1. Unplugged the electrical cord
2. Unscrewed the plastic guard
3. Unscrewed the actuator screws
4 Unplugged the cord.
5. Replaced the olld one with the new one and reversed the order
6. Uprighted the machine
7 Performed trail run with vinegar

Ordered the parts and followed You Tube DYI clip. This 3YOMaytag top loading washer has had a motherboard replaced and now this. It all works fine for now, I cannot imagine what the appliance tech would have charged. Maytag is not what it used to be.

after watching a video i ordered the part. removed the old part and installed the new wash plate using a socket and ratchet.
now washer works like new

Screw driver to get all hold downs loose because there were NO INSTRUCTIONS or online videos' to help with this model. Nut driver for the 1, 1/4 sheet metal screw holding the left side of control. all wires were self explanatory as they only fit in certain spots. Didn't know if it needed any programing after new one was installed , again no videos on this model.
