Lid would not stay up all the time.
Lift the lid and remove the auto-soap dispenser using a coin to turn the four locks. You will see a cloths hanger diameter wire that is held in place by nylon segments. The right end of the wire goes through the right hinge bushing. This is the torsion rod that hold the lid closed. There is a bushing that is on this rod and that is the part that fits into the hinge bushing. Remove this rod assembly by first removing the center nylon segment. Then pull out and the the left on the left hand side of the assy. Then fish it out of the right hinge bushing. Pay attention to how it is removed so you can replace it easily. I then replaced the broken hing bushing by pulling the broken one out with pliers. The new one snaps in. Now look at the bushing that is on the far right side of the rod that fits into the right hinge bushing. It will likely by seized up and corroded. Clean the corrosion off of the outside and use a lube to loosen the bushing so it will revolve freely around the rod. Now put it back together and your problem will be gone.

Washer was not fully draining
Pretty straight forward. After disconnecting the power. Remove the back panel, locate the drain pump. Disconnect the hoses [some water will still be in the hoses, have towels and dry vac ready] Remove protective plastic from the top of the pump and remove the electrical connection reassembled with new drain pump.

broken drive belt (nepture top load0
Slide putty knife under top section in the two front corners and lift up top, remove two screws holding front to the sides aand lift out front, lossen 1/2 bolt on the motor that adjusts the belt tension, put new belt on motor first and then slide over big pully, it was a tight fit so I put a little 3 in 1 oil on the top part of the belt to slip it over the large pully and then wiped the oil off the belt with a rag while turning the large pully, tighten 1/2 bolt with a little tension. Replace power cord that had burned from a small fire
I removed top control panel and then the old power cord that been damaged by a small fire and the just attached the new power cord and control panel. Unblievably simple and I saved myself a lot of money. Where I live in a NYC suburb this type of simple repair could easily cost $100.

My washing machine stopped working.
I went online and asked a maytag repair man how to fix my machine, he told me that was the part I needed and the link was right there to order the exact part. The problem ended up not being that part and I had to have a repair man come anyways, but I received the part and it was what fit my machine

Pad missing from both front legs which made washer dance around the room
Easy as pie but had to cut one with hack saw to remove as it would not unscrew. Rust was the problem. Hack saw was the cure. Otherwise repair would have taken 5 minutes Washer now works as it did as a new appliance.

Needed to Replace tub seal between inner and outer drum
went on line and looked up service manual for specific model of washer machine. after following detailed directions on how to get to the tub seal began the journey. once I came to removing the drum from the washer had to figure out a way to remove the nut from the drive shaft. there is a tool that can be purchased for 60, but knew there was another way. with some "out of the box" thinking took my 1.75" crescent wrench and held the nut. took a wrench with a skinny handle and placed it in the drive shaft. had to hit the handle a couple of times in order to break the nut free. recommend having two people. its very hard to hold the nut and try to break the nut free from the shaft by yourself.
