Tub out of balance on spin cycle. Very Noisy!
I the took washer to where I could lay it on its side.
Laying it on its side lets the suspension spring at the top go slack. Making pulling it from bracket easier.
Next , I lifted the tub up with a 2x4 and blocked it with another wood block. This let me have slack in the lower springs.
Of coarse I saved the hardest one (behind the motor) for last. I only swore a little! But got it to come out.
By the way, put in each new spring, before going on to the next one.
The new springs helped a lot, but I ended up ordering the wear pads a day or two later. They were very easy to replace. Just pop the old ones out of the frame with a screw driver. then pop the new ones back into the holes and you are done.
You may just want to buy them both and do it all at once. Saving moving the washer twice!

Both outside door handles turned very beige
Everything worked perfectly---thanks to the suggestion of your call center agent. She suggested that since the replacement door handles were no longer available, I should consider repainting them--it worked like a charm. Please tell her she was a life saver. We rent that house in Fl and my returning tenants had complained about the discoloring refer handles. Thank you

tub shacking back and forth
After seeing video it was easy . Took everything apart tub, basket, replaced all springs. Tub wear pads. It took longer because I cleaned eveything, took my time. There was a lot of deposits on tub and outer tub also some rust . Put it all back together all nice and clean . pluged it in put it in spin cycle and the motor just hummed. I than check to see if somethig was stuck no .Pulled motor tested it with out a load and did not work. Motor start winding went. Motor died. 2n one in 7 years. So I fixed that proplem I am a new owner of a Speed Queen washer and dryer .

Washer would fill with water and then stop.
My brother-in-law did the repair. He unscrewed the back of the top part of the machine. He located the lid switch, which is on the right from the back of the machine (left if you look at it from the front). He then unscrewed the ground wire and unhooked the old lid switch. He put the new one in place, hooked it back up, screwed the ground wire. Reconnected everything and now it works.

Washer would not begin to agitate clothes after fill.
Lifted up the control panel, removed the broken lid switch and replaced it. Replaced missing Lid hinge mounting screws. It was great. Fixed the problem. Felt empowered to fix it ourselves for such a reasonable cost. Thanks

Washer tub leans to one side. ( Not centered.)
Unplugged the washer and removed the two screws from the control panel. Raised the control panel and disconnected the wire connector that connected to the top. Then removed the two spring clips that hold the cabinet to the back of the washer. removed the cabinet from the washer that exposed the frame of the washer. I then replaced the broken spring by pushing the tub of the washer as far as it would go and replaced the suspension spring. Then i reinstalled the cabinet and control panel. Everything worked okay. ood as new.

Balanced washer vibrating
Since I had taken the washer apart before to find the problem, it was easier to remove the cabinet.Four screws and a electic connection. I remove the cabinet to get to the balance ring.I removed the tub ring by releaseing the catches and pried off the ring. Installation was just the reverse. Had some trouble putting the cabinet back whereit needs to be but once I got it the rest of the job was easy.

would not run after filling with water.
lid switch was intermittant for awhile befor finnaly quiting..Unplugged machine from elec. then removed four screws on back of instrument/dial panel...lifted the panel and located switch on left side...unplugged switch and removed screw from ground wire..removed switch...ckd part # and ordered part....part arrived on 2nd day after ordering...installed new switch...plugged switch back in..connected ground wire....replaced panel installed four screws... plug machine into receptical and ran a cycle to test. everything working fine.. I tested continuity of the old switch ..it was fine the problem was with the plastic spring that holds the switch in the slot...and allowed it to move thus not allowing the contacts to close. ground wire screw and two of the other screws required a nut driver..the other two crews required a phillips head screwdriver...10-15 min to remove switch and order...less than 10 min to replace switch and put the panel back on. location of my washer allowed me to work on it without moving it...if it is backed up to a wall..it will have to be moved enough to reach the screws on the back.

washer filled with water but would not wash, spin or drain
Used part PS886960. Simple process to replace - removed the two screws and flipped the part that houses the controls/electrical over. The switch was easily accessable. When changing out the switch the wire inside the old connector had previously gotten hot and bonded inside the plastic. Had to use a pair of pliers to separate. Then there was part of the copper piece still stuck in the connector. Used a drill to remove the bonded piece and jammed the two fittings together. Washer is repaired and working fine. Should have taken about 10 minutes to change the switch but required about 30 total.

Washer would not operate without slamming the lid
Replaced the lid switch by pulling the washer out enough to gain access. Not necessary to disconnect the waster hoses. Remove the two screws from the white plastic tabs on the rear of the control panel. Also remove the two screws connecting the control panel from the washer body. Lift the lid slightly and pull the control panel forward. Disconnect the pug into the lid switch and remove the switch. Replace the switch but remember to lift the lid while doing so. Lid has a small arm that must engage the switch correctly. Replace the control panel and reinstall the screws. Repair is very simple.
