Keep searches simple. Use keywords, e.g. "leaking", "pump", "broken" or "fit".
The boot got a hole in it and needed to be cleaned out.
First I watched a youtube video on how to do it. Then I took to machine apart and was able to replace the boot in a short period of time. You have to be careful when putting it on so the guides in the rubber line up with the pipes. It is a good idea to check the filter every few years because it does collect lint and strings that will clog the drain and cause the machine to leak or drain slowly.

Door strike broke
I am a 64 year old female that had never attempted to fix anything. This was my 1st attempt at fixing something. It took longer to look for phillips screwdriver than it took took to repair it. Thank you so much for instructions.

Washed a pliers in the pocket of my pants, and shattered the inside glass of the door panel.
Simple removed the screws from the door, did this the night I broke the glass. Gently pryed the inside of the door apart from the front of the door panel. Lined up the arrows on the edge of the new glass panel with the inside of the front door panel and placed the inside plastic door panel back on, to hold the glass panel in place. Replaced screws. Everything worked great! Easy, affordable fix!!

plastic piece broke from door strike keeping door from closing and therefore the washer wouldn't work.
Ordered a replacement door strike which was easily replaced with Phillips screwdriver. I was very grateful that the part was so easy to find on this website. It was helpful that I had saved my book with model number of washer which allowed me to find the exact part needed. Thanks!!!!

Door would not close. Washer would not turn on
I used a screwdriver to screw on the new door strike. Problem solved!

Broken Door Striker
Removed two phillips screws. Removed old door striker. Replaced with new door striker. Replaced old phillips screws. Job takes less than 1 minute.

The door strike just broke (who makes a plastic door strike on a machine that gets used as much as a washer?)
This was easy as pie. I unscrewed the old & put on the new. That's it!

Broken door latch
Unscrew broken door latch and re-screw new one in.

Washer would wash but not spin out
Washing machine would wash but during spin out phase would just rotate a couple times and then stop never entering fast spin phase. Read about the same problem on this site and decided to order the locking mechanism replacement. Took off back two screws to top of the machine, took out two screws to locking mechanism in door, removed and unplugged old mechanism, plugged in new mechanism and replaced all screws and top. Washer works perfectly. Easy fix, took less than 15 minutes.

Door strike snapped
The door strike on our front loader snapped, thanks to numerous family members slamming the door. I don't know much about repairing appliances, actually, I didn't even know the part we broke was called a 'door strike'. Desperate to regain the use of my washer, I took to the internet superhighway and found PartSelect. PartSelect is such an outstanding shop! Thanks to their forward thinking by using grids, photos to scale, and helpful additional info, I easily found the part I needed (and learned the part's name!). And, my part arrived in one day! On a Saturday! PartSelect will be my go-to shop from now on!

Nylon door latch broke off. Poor design. The hinges on the Affinity washer and dryer have hinges that won't keep the latches aligned, so the strike hit the body and broke off.
Repair was easy. Two screws held it on. It's set into the door, so there is no adjustment. However, I should have bought a couple of extra ones, because the design problem is still inherent, and it will break the next time somebody is in a hurry and "slams" the door, or pulls it open before the cycle is completed. The ten pound door is held by a stike less than 1/8" thick.

Door striker was broken

Door Strike Broken off in lock
The end of the door strike had broken off in the lock. The door strike itself went on in just a few minutes. The time consuming part was getting the piece that had broken off out. After trying with tweezers to get it out, we took the lock off the machine and finally got it out. So....if the door strike looks damaged or isn't shutting properly, replace it before it breaks off inside the lock. We were pleased with how quickly it came. We ordered it Sunday evening and it came Tuesday morning.
