Leaking in the washing machine
My hubby and I replaced the part in about 20 minutes, including moving the washing machine. We love doing household projects like this. We're a great team and putting in this part showed how good we work together. Thanks for the quick response too!

Both door latch parts broke, one on the door and the other on the washer.
When I looked at the website for latch repair they showed a video (can't remember which brand but not Amana) where you had to take off the top and front of the washer to get at the latch part on the washer. For the Amana I had, you simply had to pull out a portion of the rubber gasket held onto the washer by a wire/spring combination (you can take the wire off) to get at the latch assembly. You could then undo the three screws holding the latch to the washer, pull it out and unplug the three wiring connections to remove the old latch. Then plug connections into the new latch, reinstall, tighten screws and fit gasket and wire/spring assembly back together. Much easier than going thru the top and front of the washer!

Water Intlet Valve Stuck Open
Shut water off to washer, unhook hoses, removed back panel of washer, removed screw that holds the valve in place then unhooked the water line that connects to the washer and removed part. Place new inlet valve in position and hooked hoses and mounted it in place, put back panel back on and hooked hoses up and turned water on. Did a test wash and it worked

Both outside door handles turned very beige
Everything worked perfectly---thanks to the suggestion of your call center agent. She suggested that since the replacement door handles were no longer available, I should consider repainting them--it worked like a charm. Please tell her she was a life saver. We rent that house in Fl and my returning tenants had complained about the discoloring refer handles. Thank you

leaky water inlet valve
It was an easy fix,all I had to do was pull the washing machine out and remove the top off the washer, leaving everything connected,I cycled the machine to figure out where the leak was in the first place, then unpluged the washer, turned off the water and removed the water lines from the back of the washer(be sure to have a couple towels handy)disconnected the 4 color coded wires from the inlet valve making note of which color went to which relay, disconnected the hose from the inlet valve, and removed the one screw holding he valve to washer. That was all, then reversed the procedure to put it all back together. success! took about 20 min start to finish.

Washer flashed error code DL (door lock) and wouldn't start.
We followed another very helpful repair story. Unplug machine. Unscrew top back screws, remove top of washer. Reach inside from the top in the front of the machine. Remove screws holding latch in place, unplug the three plugs attached to latch. Replace with new door latch, screw it in place, replug the three plugs, put top of machine back on, replace screws on back and your'e done! Works great! Job made easy thanks to others helpfulness!
