Top agitator did not work
I removed the cover for the softener dispenser on the top of the agitator. Then reached in and removed the cover of the nut and washer which was very sticky and sealed with an o-ring. This took a bit of pressure. Then used a socket wrench with an extension to loosen the bolt and took the whole agitator out of the machine. Then I set the agitator on the floor and with a fine 12 inch long screw driver released the catches while turning and pulling the agitatior with my other hand and holding the lower agitatior on the floor with my feet. I then turned the upper part over and removed the cogs and holding mechanism.
Then I reversed the process after replacing the cogs with the new part. 25 minutes total.

Burning smell, ASSUMED it was the belt
Once we put the washer on it's side noticed lots of oil on the floor and in the belt cover area. Replaced belt anyway but issue is the leaking transmission. Starting warranty process since Maytag carries a 10-year part warranty and machine is 6.5 years old. Wish me luck !!!

The water inlet valve on the cold side wasn’t allowing color water flow
I watched the video and for the most part the first part of the repair went well. I carefully stored the screws, but despite what the video suggested the part did NOT just slide out. Upon further inspection I discovered two small screws in the top of the valve housing affixing it to the machine. Since it was to narrow an are to use a driver I was forced to remove the housing that holds the timer, which involved removing the knob and a small screw. On each side of the housing was a metal clip and true to form I was able to loosen one side but the other the clip launched into orbit. After a thorough inspection of the floor I found said clip. I was then able to remove the housing and loosen the two screws. Of interest is the fact that the new part had molded places for screws different that the video. After that replacing everything went smoothly and I was able to hook up the washer as the repair was successful.

The Washer wasn't agitating.
Removed the attaching bolt and then removed the Upper Agitator Assembly. I removed the damaged parts and installed the Agitator Repair Kit and Re-installed the NEW Upper Agitator Assembly.

Top section of agitator was slipping.
I ordered the new cogs but didn't want to wait the few days for them to arrive. So I decided to try and temporarily repair the old ones. After looking at the picture of the new ones on this site I realized that the teeth were just worn down. I took all four of them out and used a grinding disc to carve the teeth down deeper. They were not perfect. (I would recommend holding the teeth with a vise.) However, after reinstalling the cogs the machine worked perfect and that was two weeks ago. I'm not going to install the new ones until I have to.

Top half of agitator would not agitate.
Removed top cap of agitator and pulled out the inner cap. Spread a pair of needle nose pliers and placed them in square holes on each side of nylon fitting. Unscrewed nylon fitting and removed top half of agitator. Replaced directional cogs/dog ears and put agitater back together. Works like new. Easy fix.

4 small nylon pieces on shaft inside agitator, worn out, agitator would not turn properly. and
The process to replace the nylon pieces was to remove the protective cap, (which snaps in place),agitator (which is held in place with a nut) you will need a socket with an extention to reach the nut, and worn parts. replace the agitator repair kit, agitator and protective cap and your washer works as good as new. This is a very simple repair job, even a 10 yr old could do this

The agitator on the washing machine was not working at all; I was ready to call a repair man or buy a new washer
I popped the cap off of the agitator. I could see the grabbers weren't grabbing the side of the agitator. I thought I could take a shot at fixing it since I was ready to give up. Happened upon this site. With the model number, I was very easily able to find the parts I needed. Ordered them up. Took one bolt out of the assembly and the whole agitator came off. I popped in the new parts as the diagram was very easy to follow, resecured the bolt, and all was good. I saved a ton of money off replacement or even calling a service tech. Your site made this very easy with the detailed diagrams. Didn't order anything I didn't need. Only cost $11 to fix it and made me feel like Mr. Fixit. I will definitely use your site as my first, best choice for any problems I have in the future.

It was easy, take off the cap, then loosen the nut. Take it apart, change the dog ears, put back together. It was done.
