Found that the teeth and the agitator coupler hade stripped out. Replaced the coupling and everything worked great. 10 Min and $10. 00 Fixed it up.

I did this by myself and it was so easy. I'm a tiny female so it didn't take a lot of muscle and I only got one bruise :) I pulled the agitator off, there was no screw holding it in place. Removed the screw that was holding the coupler on with a socket set. Put the new coupler in place, used the socket set to screw it on, popped the agitator back on and crossed my fingers.....It worked like it was brand new. So happy, apparently the old coupler was stripped out. Super fast shipping and I will come back for other parts as needed. Thanks so much!

Easiest repair ever. My wife actually did the repair because I thought I'd need more time to do it. She just pulled the agitator staight up and out then removed the bolt holding the coupling, pulled out the defective coupling and put the new one in, replaced the bolt, slid the agitator back on and it worked perfectly! Thanks for making a $60 or more repair call a $13 dollar self repair. And that includes shipping! We will always use your site for future fixes.

Found out the screw was stripped from the agitator, probably because the washer is over 10 yrs old. We got the right part! The parts store was very fast in shipping, in fact we got it the next day! Highly recommend PartSelect!!!!!!!!!!

There are many on-line videos to help you do this. It's so easy, even a beginner handyperson can do it. For this model, just run a strap under the agitator to assist you in lifting it up off the coupler (good tug). Remove the old worn coupler, put the new one on, set the agitator back on by giving it a little downward push.

The repair was really simple. I pulled off the agitator cap by hand, then put my fingers under the agitator itself. There should be some play in how much the agitator can be lifted up. Some instructions and how-to videos tell you to use a leather belt to remove the agitator but I didn't have a problem removing it with my hands. One quick, hard pull did the trick. Under the agitator, you'll see the agitator coupling, which s held on buy a 7/16" bolt on top. Use a nut driver or a socket to remove the bolt and pull the coupling straight up. Use a wire brush to scrape away all the crud underneath it and on the metal splines. Once the area is reasonably clean, slide the new coupling into place and reattach it with the new bolt that is provided. Line up the grooves in the coupling with the grooves in the agitator and snap it back down into place. Replace the agitator cap and you're all done.

I pulled the top of the agitator off (the softener dispenser) then pulled the agitator itself off. I had to pull with some force. I used the socket wrench to remove the bolt on top of the agitator coupling. I then pulled off the old agitator coupling, replaced it with the new part. Used the socket wrench to tighten the new bolt. Lined up the slots on the new coupling with the agitator top, it slid on with a little resistance. The last part to replace was the softener dispencer.

Pulled off agitator with little effort. One 7/16 bolt to remove and the coupler came right off. Pushed on new coupler, replaced with new provided bolt, pushed agitator back on and was back in business!! Very simple inexpensive repair. Thanks Partsselect for your quick parts turnaround!

I followed the on-line video with just one exception and I had the old part off in less than 5 minutes. I ordered the part on Saturday afternoon and I had the part in hand by Wednesday morning at around 11:00 am. I spent less time installing the coupling kit than it took to take it apart and had 2 loads of clothes done before going to work on second shift. took agitator off, loosened bolt on coupling, took that off. Replaced new coupling and tightened bolt on top. Put agitator on and pushed down hard to set in place. I'm a 66 year old female with no mechanical ability. I ordered this part on Sat. and it was on my door step on Mon. great service and video explained how to do repair and information provided possible repair needed. Great company.....

I had no intention of trying to fix the washer myself after reading about how to do it, only because I didn't know what half of the words were referring to. But once I watched the video, and I saw that the part was going to cost less than $15.00 (shipping included), I thought I would at least try it before going out and buying a new machine. The washer in the video was slightly different than mine, but I recognized the parts from my machine and mine was actually easier to replace than the one in the video. I just pulled off the agitator, unbolted the old agitator coupling and replace it with the new one, bolted it back on and lined up the agitator grooves with coupling and that was it. It worked and saved me a lot of money. I once had an appliance repairman tell me that if your washer or dryer lasts 7 years nowadays, you should consider yourself lucky. Mine is 7 years old, so I thought I would have to replace it. I didn't particularly want to pay someone $100.00 to come to my house and tell me it couldn't be fixed if I was going to have to buy a new one. But fixing it myself was very easy. Written instructions never would have worked for me, but the video was very helpful. Thanks!

Unplug power. Pull up firmly and quickly from the base of the agitator. Some videos used a rope and 2x4, I didn't have to. The agitator just pops right off. Then with a 7/16" wrench unscrew the bolt while holding on to the coupling. Take agitator coupling off. Clean off metal grooves that the coupling goes on, use either a small screwdriver, metal brush, a knowl, just to make sure you will have good connection with the new coupling. Then install the coupling, new nut, tighten nut firmly. Install agitator pushing down firmly on opposite sides until snaps in place. Turn agitator by hand, it should not free spin. Plug power back in, run washer with water and bleach only in the smallest setting and let it run through its cycle. This will take care of any black debris that might have got into the bowl while fixing. GOOD LUCK!! I also used videos found on Google.
