Agitator Coupling Stripped Out, Machine Wouldnt Agitate
Placed hands fiemly on agitator, at bottom, gave a snug pull and removed it from machine, thus exposing the agitator coupling. The coupling is held to main shaft by 1 bolt(11 mm, I think). Removed it, pulled off stripped coulping, installed new, installed bolt, lined up splines on agitator and slid on untill it "clicked" back into place. All done.

agitator was loose and not agitating
First I yanked off the agitator. Then I undid the bolt holding the coupler onto the center of the machine. Took the worn down coupler off, replaced it with the new coupler and bolt. Good as new. GE was going to charge me $85 just for a someone to walk through the door. After parts and labor I am sure they would have charged me $200. I did it on my own for $20 (had the part rush shipped so that was twice the price of the part).

would spin but not agitate
I'm happy I looked at the motor spline while it was running and found it was not slipping. Thanks to GE having a parts list in the compartment behind the controls. I found the part name and number. A quick search of the part number came up with your web site. I payed less for the parts and shipping than driving around town would have cost in gas, much less my time. Thank you

Washer Machine quit agitating
This repair is as simple as it gets. Pull up on the agitator to reveal the Agitator Coupling. Remove the old coupling and reinstall the new one. In addition to this, I found the source of a majority of the mold smell inside the washer machine. There was a build up of detergent under the Agitator. A few scraps of a puddy knife, a shop vac, and the odor was gone. The only caution is to be careful pulling up on the agitator because you could potentially hit your self in the face because it will come off fast. Easy, Easy, Easy.

washer was making a screeching noise
Using the diagrams from the website, I was trying to determine the source of the noise. Thought I was losing the clutch, but then determined from your website that this model has no clutch. Turned out to be a couple of pieces from the agitator coupling had broken off, and were riding between the agitator and the tub. Cleaned out the plastic and the washer worked. Then ordered and replaced the coupling. Would have only taken about 15 minutes, but I dropped a screw down in the outer tub, and had to fish it out.

Agitator would not agitate.
Took the top cup off the agitator, popped out the agitator by grabbing it with both hands and yanking, unscrewed the nut to the agitator coupling, put the new one on and tightened it up, popped the agitator back on. Works great no problems. Though I did find out that the factory had changed the part sometime ago and it actually did need to be replaced.

agitator not working
I pulled off the agitator and realized that the coupler was freespinning, it should not do that. I then removed the bolt on top then removed coupler, it was stripped. Got the part number which is on the coupler itself and ordered a new one. Which by the way a newer style is now the oem replacement. Got the new one installed now it is good as new. All you will need to perform this work is a 11mm socket. Takes 5 minutes.

would not agitate
Popped the agitater off the coupler by using belt slipped under agitater and pulling up sharply. Unbolted coupler but it was stuck. Put agitater back on minus the bolt. Put a couple towels into washer ran a small load, soon as it started to agitate I could hear a sound and I found both pieces had came off the splined shaft. Hard part was over.

Washer would not agitate.
Reaching into the washer I placed both hands on the bottom of the agitater 180 degrees apart and lifted the agitater straight up out of the tub. Using a 7/16 socket I removed the coupling kit. The new one slid right on. I secured it with the new bolt supplied with the kit. The agitater went right back on the new coupler and I was done. Fast, simple and inexpensive. Thanks so much to Part Select.

Washing machine would not agitate.
Repair was so simple. I used both hands to pull of the inside assembly of the washing machine. Loosened bolt with a pair of pliers. Replaced worn out agitator with new one along with new bolt. I tightened the bolt and pur back on the inside assembly and was done in less than five minutes. The part came to my house in only three days and the instructions were easy to read and understand!
