no final spin
removed top of washer then removed the screws that held the lock in place. only hard part was the lack of room to slide my hand down to get the lock from inside the washer, and put the new one in. managed to find a tech sheet in the washer to put the washer in a "service mode" that is where i could make the washer do a final spin.but it still gave me a code that the door lock was not working properly.(even though it still locked)replaced the lock with a new one and the code disappeared and did a full final spin.. thanks guys

The door on the washer would not lock, therefore, you could not wash clothes.
After some research online about my Frigidaire Washer, I pre-determined that the problem could likely be the lock mechanism. I ordered the part and it arrived within 3 business days. My son removed the screws from the back of the washer, slid the top off and removed the old part and replaced it with the new part. It took about 20 mins. The machine is now working properly again. The door catch that I ordered did not work with the door lock I ordered. However, the old door catch that was still in good working order does work with the new door lock and switch assembly that I purchased.

Did not spin
Followed your instruction, simply removed the top cover and the two screws on the door to remove the switch assembly. Unplug old part and replaced with the new one after pluging three wires. I saved $105.00, which was the quote from a repair shop. Thank You for your great service and directions; the part arrived a day after I had ordered, did not pay extra for special delivery.

Door strike snapped
The door strike on our front loader snapped, thanks to numerous family members slamming the door. I don't know much about repairing appliances, actually, I didn't even know the part we broke was called a 'door strike'. Desperate to regain the use of my washer, I took to the internet superhighway and found PartSelect. PartSelect is such an outstanding shop! Thanks to their forward thinking by using grids, photos to scale, and helpful additional info, I easily found the part I needed (and learned the part's name!). And, my part arrived in one day! On a Saturday! PartSelect will be my go-to shop from now on!

Nylon door latch broke off. Poor design. The hinges on the Affinity washer and dryer have hinges that won't keep the latches aligned, so the strike hit the body and broke off.
Repair was easy. Two screws held it on. It's set into the door, so there is no adjustment. However, I should have bought a couple of extra ones, because the design problem is still inherent, and it will break the next time somebody is in a hurry and "slams" the door, or pulls it open before the cycle is completed. The ten pound door is held by a stike less than 1/8" thick.

Washer wouldn't come on because lock went out
Ok, so I went to wash clothes and my Frigidaire Affinity wouldn't come on because it said the door wasn't locked. The switch had gone out. I researched it and bought it here. When we got it, I looked up a video on Youtube that was less than 2 minutes long. My husband and I watched it and then did the repair! It took us only a few minutes and then the washer worked! We saved time and at least $150! And it was so easy to do that I probably could have done it without my husband, and I'm not the handy type.

Outer door panel had shattered next to upper door hinge
The outer door cover contains the door hinge housing for this front loading washer. The Outer door cover had cracked and shattered above the top hinge joint, leaving only the lower hinge joint to keep the door mounted onto the washer. Initially, I was unable to remove the hinge from the front of the washer, because the attaching flat-head screws were REALLY torqued onto the washer. My hand held screwdriver was unable to loosen these screws, so I bought a Black & Decker cordless impact driver from Home Depot for $59. This power tool worked great, and I removed the hinge assembly and door from the washer. (When you're using the impact driver, make sure you've got the correct sized bit for the Phillips head. You can buy a bit set at Home Depot. If you don't the correct size, you'll just strip the head, and then you'll also have to buy a damaged screw extractor.) Once the hinge was removed, I discovered that the lower hinge arm had been bent, due to the door hanging off of just the lower arm. When I attempted to straighten out the hinge arm, it broke off. After a few choice words, I ordered a new hinge assembly from PartSelect. Once I received the new hinge, I reassembled the door, and attached the hinge to the washer. My washer is now working great. Using perfect hindsight, I would also recommend that my fellow handymen replace the proprietary flat-head screws which hold the hinge onto the washer. My first attempts to remove the hinge screws damaged them pretty badly. You should also consider replacing all the screws which hold the inner and outer door panels together.

Removing hinge from front of washer
During this repair job, I replaced the outer door cover and door hinge of this front loading washer. The outer door cover had cracked and shattered above the top hinge pin, leaving only the lower hinge pin to keep the door mounted onto the washer. The outer door cover contains the door hinge housing. Initially, I could not remove the hinge from the front of the washer, because the attaching flat-head screws were REALLY torqued onto the washer. My hand held screwdriver was unable to loosen these screws, so I bought a Black & Decker cordless 12V impact driver from Home Depot for $59. This power tool worked great, and I removed the hinge assembly and door from the washer. When you're using the impact driver, make sure you've got the correct sized bit for the Phillips head. You can buy a bit set at Home Depot. If you don't use the correct size, you'll just strip the head, and then you'll also have to buy a damaged screw extractor. Once the hinge was removed, I discovered that the lower hinge arm had been bent, due to the door hanging off just the lower arm. When I attempted to straighten out the hinge arm, it broke off. After a few choice words, I ordered a new hinge assembly from PartSelect. Once I received the new hinge, I reassembled the door, and attached the hinge to the washer. When seating the plastic hinge bushings into the outer door hinge housing, make sure the slotted tabs of both hinge bushings are fitted snugly into the hinge housing. You won’t be able to reassemble the inner and outer door covers if the bushings are not seated properly, I finally got everything back together, and now my washer works great.

Door error on front loading washing machine
After searching the internet, I found out that the error code flashing on my front loading washer was an easy DIY fix. I went into our local big box home improvement store who told me to go to their online store for the part I needed. I did but had zero luck. I found the part I needed here and found a great video online which walked me through the repair. The part arrived and it took less than 10-mins to be done and have a working washer again. Thanks for the great service! From a working mom in NC
