VAW3584GW0 Crosley Washer - Instructions

I removed the softener cup from the top of the agitator unit. The auger works separately from the bottom agitator. Remove the cap from down in the auger. There is a 7/16" bolt that holds the Auger and agitator to the center shaft. Loosen that bolt with a 7/16" socket on an extension from the ratchet wrench, and remove it from the bushing- I used a magnet. You will need to hold the agitator to loosen the bolt. Save that bolt. You will need it later. The entire agitator and auger can be lifted as a unit straight up out of the washer tub. There is a plastic bushing in the replacement kit. Slide it down over the center shaft with the small tabs up, then apply some Vaseline to the tabs as a lubricant. The new agitator can now be slipped down over the center shaft and seated on the bushing. Place the top auger onto the shaft down on to the agitator. Next, assemble the top bushing by placing the four cogs into the slots with the small pegs. The cogs must have the side with the raised area on the top of the assembly. Next push the plastic keeper down over the center of the bushing to hold the cogs in place and push it down to secure the cogs. Place this assembly into center shaft and line up the four rectangular holes in the top bushing with the four plastic prongs below. The top bushing assembly may be pushed down and secured by the four upright pegs below. If there are plastic tabs obstructing the rectangular holes in the top bushing , you can put the bolt back into the center hole and carefully tighten it down making sure the four holes align with the four pegs below. Tighten until the top bushing is securely in place. You will need to hold the lower agitator while you tighten the bolt with the socket wrench. Replace cap over the top bushing, then the softener cup into the top of the agitator assembly. The job is complete.

Washer was not agitating. My husband did not have a clue what to look for, but he took it apart and noticed two of the four directional cogs were stripped. Did an internet search and found the part on your website and thought we would give it a try since the part/shipping was under $20. The parts came in three days and my washer lives on. Was ready to get a new one since it is 18 years old, but I will not wait. Excellent website with all instructions and parts breakdown of the washer.

I popped the dispenser cap off, pulled off the plastic cover that sits on top of the agitator directional cogs assembly, and used a socket wrench with 2 extensions on it to unscrew the nut holding the assembly in place. I misplaced my socket screwdriver and rather than try to buy a nutdriver that matched the size, I just bought a little 3/8" socket extension kit (I needed about 8" of length to be able to use a normal socket wrench). My hands are pretty big so I just had to use pliers to pull the agitator cogs assembly out. Next I just turned the assembly upside down, slipped the plastic ring off that holds the cogs in place, and put the new cogs in place of the old ones. Reassembly was just as easy. The job took about 15 minutes, and once everything was back together the agitator worked like it was brand new.

It was easy, take off the cap, then loosen the nut. Take it apart, change the dog ears, put back together. It was done.

Went to website and found question to what problem i was having with washer and they gave me a list of parts to fix it. The video that showed me how to change the parts was very helpful. I replaced the Agitator Cam Kit and the thrust washer. It was very easy to do and watching the video before i started helped.

I unscrewed the agitator and pulled it out. Then took out the old agitator cam kit and put in the new one.

After the wife held the phone to the washer so I could hear the horrendous noise it was making. And I screaming at her "shut it off, shut it off!' I came home and took the agitator apart, and found the directional dogs worn out. Went to the computer and easily ordered new parts, which came very quickly. I took off the agitator with a long extension and socket, put in the new dogs and reversed for installation. Told the wife get back to doing the laundry!

Half inch extension. Removed plastic set piece. Remove agitator cap. Remove ring remove worn cogs. Replaced new cogs Replace lock ring, back together. 10 minutes

Just watched the video. Take from a 63 year old. Who never fixed a washer. Thx a lot for the video it saved me a lot of money being on a fix income. and it was less than $ 10 that was included shipping.

Removed Softner dispenser and cap. With a 3/8" socket wrench and extension And 7/16" socket I took out the screw holding the agitator and removed top section of agitator. Turned upside down and removed the rubber grommet that holds the cogs in place. Replaced cogs and reinstalled grommet. Aligned top part of agitator with 2 tabs and put back in place and secured with 7/16" screw. Replaced cap And dispenser. Good to go. Works perfectly. Very easy repair.

Removed the fabric softener cup, remove plastic cap that prevents fabric softener from going into the agitator column, removed screw, replaced dog teeth and cap that holds them in place, put agitator back together.... Done.

I took out the softner dispencer and there is a bolt under tthe the plastic cover,I removed the bolt and the whole assembly came out,then I installed the new one and reinstlled the bolt and plastic cover,and reinserted the liquid softner dispencer.All only took about fifteen min.

I clean out the fabric softner dispenser on my machine on a regular basis and found the seal split. After looking at several sites to try and find this part, I found this one. Ordering couldn't have been easier and repair only required pulling up the cup for the softner and installing the cap.

Trying to follow the instructions according to the video was easy enough until the part where I had to remove the control panel for access to the screws holding the inlet valve. I don't have a putty knife, so I had a bit of trouble trying to remove the panel. I found another way. There are screws on the left and right sides which hold the control panel to the side pieces holding it to the body. If you remove the screws and use a pick or flathead screwdriver to carefully pull up on the tabs below the screws while gently pulling the control panel away, it will easily pop off with a rotational movement. The panel is centered into its location via two plastic pins molded into the side panels, so be aware of them and try to avoid breaking them. They'll help you get the panel properly positioned during reassembly, which is simple. You'll see all this easily if you take the time and look. Don't be in a rush. To reassemble, line up the panel with the plastic pins and rotate it into position. The tabs slide easily into position and lock the panel into place. Just don't forget to reinstall the screws. Removing the panel in this manner added a bit of time to the repair, but not a lot. It's still a fast repair overall. Everything else was exactly like in the video. Well, almost. I had no difficulty whatsoever with sliding the new valve into place. But once the job was done the sounds coming from the washer during the filling stages ceased. Turns out the screens in the inlet valve were getting stopped up with lime.
