Replaced roller. Very simple. Dryer is the easiest appliance to repair. Only a few parts keep a dryer working

First I came to this web site and discovered some directions from other customers. I then followed those directions to disassemble the agitator. I removed the softener cup by pulling up on the blue plastic retention ring. I then used a flat head screwdriver to remove the plastic cap by placing the screwdriver into the slot on the side and prying it off. Next I used a 3/8 socket and extension to remove the bolt which holds the agitator to the shaft. After the bolt was removed I pulled up on the agitator and removed it from the washing machine. To remove the upper section of the agitator, I placed it on the ground and holding the base with my feet, I pulled on the upper section. I then removed the dog ears, verifyed the problem and ordered the parts (dog ears). The parts arrived in less time than promised, were installed in about 5 minutes and I was back to doing laundry. When you reassemble the agitator, turn it upside down to install the dog ears so they do not fall out.

Replaced hinge switch. Still no spin cycle. Noticed hinge bearing cracked & if hinge forced into switch, spin activated. Ordered new hinge bearings.Spin cycle still didn't engage. On further examination, observed that hinge was bent. Straightened hinge & worked like a charm. Didn't really need new switch or bearings. NOTE : Avoid having washer door bang shut.Took longer than expected, but each procedure was simple.

After identfying that the problem was due to a damaged drum support roller, I decided to replace the bad roller instead of replacing the dyer itself.

The first thing was to remove the front cover
and the front panels to expose the drum. (Only a few screws hold them in place.) Next, the drum was removed by first releasing the belt from the motor pulley and tensioner, and then pulling the drum straight out.

At this point the two rollers would be exposed. The triangular plastic retaining locks were removed by slightly prying them off. The old rollers were then removed and replaced.

Before putting everything back, this was a good time to vacuum all the accumulated lint inside, especially the lint that had accumulated around the motor assembly and the fire box.

(A pleasant surprise: I found a lot of coins inside the unit, enough to recoup half of what I spent for the new rollers.)

the tube when spinning the tub would shake so bad the washer would walk away from the wall but it will not happen anymore since I put the new spring on it runs great and this is not my first rodeo. Removed the outer part to timer controls then removed two screws then shell in front came off the body

After reading everyone elses stories, I purchased all new springs(5), new spring brackets(one of mine was rusted really badly)and all new wear pads(two sets of 3pcs each). The rusted spring bracket was the most time consuming as the screw was rusted into the bracked so I had to drill it out. Other than that, the actual spring replacement was easy. Took maybe 10 minutes. The wear pads were another story. I'm a pretty good mechanic and I had a bit of a struggle getting the old pads out. I used a long, flat head screwdriver to pry them out. Once they were out the new ones weren't too tough to get back in. Took about 20 minutes all together. I stongly recommend watching the video on removing the washer cabinet first. It will save you some time. Acutally, watch the videos on all of the parts to simplify the process. Oh and by the way, all of my washer problems are gone. Well worth my time and $70 in parts. unplug unit first Took water & drain hose loose, used two wheel dolly, took washer out on patio. Removed water hose. Removed two screws # 49 an laid back control unit then Removed 2 #6 Clips Top of unit, then pried back unit cover out enough to remove Water valve after removing #4 screw that holds unit to back panel ,removed hose clamp #21 an electric connections, install new water valve and put back together..DO NOT TAKE BOTTOM SCREWS FROM BACK PANEL, if so the bottom will drop.. Intake cold water valve was half stopped up. Also new water lines.

The valve was easy to change, but we as homeowners should change the hot and cold hoses just like they say you should every 5 years. The hoses grew to the water valve and it was almost a disaster. After cutting the end with a dremmel and clamping visegrips on it I finally got it loose. After that it went smooth. Thanks for getting me the part so fast.

slipped new rear leveling legs into leveling fixture. Fit even though it wasn't specified to be the right part for this old washer.

Removed the bolt that holds the agitator in place..pryed the metal ring that holds the agitator dogs in place..replaced the old dogs with the new ones..old ones were broke off so I had to figure out what direction to install them by assembling everything and making sure that the dogs would catch the teeth on the part that surrounds them..reassembled and then the machine wound agitate properly..but then discovered that the direct drive clutch was not working keeping the drum from spinning..so I replaced the clutch but that's another review..

I went on line to find out how take the adjetator apart. You just stand on the adjetator and pull the top off. Very simple. Once that wss apart I cleaned the dog area of dirt and old pieces. Install new dogs and put it back together. I was trying to make much harder than it was. Piece of cake.

Removed the four worn agitator directional cogs and replaced them with new ones
