Ice maker not producing ice
I found your website while searching the internet for a repairman. My fridge was making strange clicking sounds and no ice. I suspected a certain part after reading the testimonials on your website. The part I ordered was delivered in less than a week and I installed it in less than 5 minutes. I probably saved about $200.00. Thank you!!!

no ice
First I disconnected the refrigerator. I snapped off the service door. taped closed the auto.door shut off located on the left side wall. the unit just pulled out,
disconnecting the power source, removed the plastic cover, unscrewed (3) screws and reattached the new unit . i reconnected the process in reverse.
if i had repairman do this it would have cost twice as much .

Would not make ice...plastic gear broken on module
after reading reviews on changing the control module I decided it couldn't be very difficult. I was rewarded because it wasn't. It took less than 20 minutes to change the module. At first I was concerned because the wheel did not start turning as soon as power was connected. I discovered this is normal and 30 minutes later the icemaker was making ice again. Simply remove the 3 screws, carefuly pull the module away from the shutoff arm, and pull it out. putting the new one in is the exact reverse. You just have to realign the ejecter cam in the icemaker with the new module so it slides right in.

no ice
Did not have to remove the complete ice maker. Only the front part that housed to motor assembly. Two Clips removes to cover and three screws removed the motor unit and the rest was in reverse. No wires to disconnect or connect. It just plugs in to unit. Works great and cheaper than from Sears Parts Direct shipping cheaper also. Will buy from Part Select again.
Thanks, Ron

No ice!
After reading the stories on your site, I figured it had to be the motor control. Easy to take off, but had to take the tray off the freezer wall to get the ice out. Once I did that it was a piece of cake. Now I have ice (and vodka tonics...).

Would not complete ice-making cycle.
Unplugged the refrigerator. No need to remove the entire icemaker (IM). Removed the old module by taking out the 3 screws and carefully wiggling it free from the icemaker. Lined up the blade arm with the new module, pushed the module onto the IM and put in the 3 screws. Lowered the shut off arm and plugged in the refrigerator. Once the freezer compartment reached the proper temperature, the IM began making ice with no further problems.

Ice maker was not making ice
We replaced this part 5 years ago, so we considered ourselves "experienced" at this particular job. We followed the video at your site and after some sticky removal parts, we were able to put the new motor in and finish putting the freezer back in its original shape. After a few worried hours, we again had ice. The video was easy to follow and we couldn't be happier. Thank you for saving us hundreds of dollars.

Ice maker broken. Quick fix
The plastic fill cup part is also used to hold one end of the wire “one/off” switch that is manually activated or activated when the ice tray is full. This wire piece fell out because one end, that is part of the plastic fill cup, broke off. The wire switch was fine.
The video demos show you exactly what to do. The repair man showed me a trick to speed up the testing process. The trick is to insert a wire jumper cable to actuate the ice maker and make it rotate. But this isn’t necessary.
Hardest part of this fix is emptying the freezer (bottom with a slide out door) and removing the door.
Why this part is so expensive is beyond me. But I’m happy it was available for a 24yo fridge that still works!!

Icemaker not making ice
3 Years ago our icemaker stopped working and we paid a professional $225.00 to come and repair. This time I chose to investigate the problem on line and PartSelect website gave me info on the motor assembly that may be the problem. Sure enough I purchased the part, it was delivered in two days. My husband installed the control & motor assembly in less than 15 minutes. We had ice within hours. Thanks for saving us a service call and the expense. The Goldbergs
