water leaked into refrigerator
Once I identified the problem, Partselect's web page made it easy to find a replacement part. The Housing Control unit was easy to remove as it had one screw in the middle, by the temprature control section, and two screws to either end. The center screw required a philips head, but the end once did not need to be removed. The unit could simply be slid out and the wiring is easy to disconnect. Then it was simply a process of inserting the components from the damaged Housing Control unit, to the new one. If you treat it like a "puzzle" you'll get the results you want with out the aggrevation that it could turn into.

Icemaker fill tube cracked
The factory installed fill tube was formed and molded, hard plastic. Nothing like the replacement part or the one depicted in the install instructions. To remove it, I had to grip the exterior water tube module with a pair of Visegrip pliers, twist and pull as hard as possible, to expose a section of fill tube. I then had to cut through the tube with a hacksaw to remove the module and flange that secure it to the access hole. From the inside, I removed the ice maker and fan shield to expose the remaining section of fill tube. Using a section of copper pipe and a hammer, I was able to drive the tube through the back wall of the appliance. Fitting the new tube was easy. However, it is too short to reach the fill cup. I fashioned a section of the old tube to create an extension which I inserted in the new part. And, much to my surprise, it actually works!

Replace old leaking freezer gasket with new one
Repair went very well with removal of old gasket and the new replacement. The replacement fit (OEM ?) did not fit as nice as the old one. Two screw holes at opposite corners never lined up with holes in new gasket. Some of the gasket inner folds did not fit nicely but they work with no issues.

Water Fill Cup Broke
The Ice maker unit had to be removed and the shaft had to also be removed, which required dis-assembling the motor drive. The thickness of the shaft and the bearing fill cup prevents it from simply pushing it in place. Other than that I have Ice.

A plastic drawer guide broke.
The drawer guide mounts in slots on a bracket hanging below the shelf above. Only had to use a screwdriver to move the plastic tab in the slotted bracket then slide the whole plastic guide out. ordering the new one was easy, cheap, and quick through PartsSelect.com. The new part just popped in without tools. Very easy!

Did not fit
Picture on grid in website did not match actual size, The length was a little more than half an inch shorter. That meant the hole for the screw did not align. Ordered three different times, two were repeat orders for the same handle, one was for a different model that looked like it would fit. That handle came closer but still the length was too short. Both types of handles did not match the dimensions of the pictures shown. To be fair, I ordered same product from two other companies, Also the same problem. One customer service person said that since this was made in China, maybe converting inches to metric did not translate.

Adjusti-temp meat/cheese drawer right glide rail fell off
When the new glide rail didn't look any different that the one I thought was broken, I thought I'd assessed the wrong broken part as everytime I tried to put it in the slots it would still fall off, just like the old one.. But I went back and reread the other repair stories to get a picture in my mind what they were talking about. I realized I needed to get the glass shelf off but it wouldn't budge. I found the original information booklet and realized the two blue clips in the shelf tracks were nothing more than packing clips (we've had the fridge 8 year.) when I got those off (these took the most time and a flat head screwdriver) the shelf came right off. Then I put the glide rail brackets in the appropriate slots, pushed the rail toward the front of the shelf and when it got to the place of resistance, I just applied steady, gentle pressure to get the brackets to lock in place in the slots. Repair done, placed shelf back in fridge, put drawer back on, and it was done. Oh, forgot, I first had to take the little wheel thingy off the old raid and screw it onto the new rail before attaching the new rail to the shelf. By the Way, this was really easy to do. I'm a 66 year old grandmother and this was my first refrigerator repair. Always read the previous repair stories--they really do tell you what you need to do.
