25331430102 Kenmore Refrigerator - Instructions

The repair was not difficult because you just remove the old part and plug it in and connect two wires. But I wish there was a way to test if the compressor is working before I purchased the parts. The compressor would not start so I was not able to repair the refrigerator.

Assembled the bar and ends, then slide into slots on door. Cross bars have tabs to lock in place. These tabs may need a little effort to get started.

1.unpack box.
2. slide out of plastic bag.
3. open refirgheratior door.
4. slide in shelves.
5. fill with stuff.
6.figure out a way to reuse packing.

The bulb has a plastic clear cover. That cover can just be carefully removed using a screwdriver. It's held in by a metal bracket. After you remove the cover. You'll just need to replace the bulb and then re-install the cover and bracket.

I watched the video on how to change the defrost thermostat. I removed the back cover inside the freezer then I pulled off the old defrost thermostat and then using a pair of wire cutters I cut it off and then bared a little of both of the wires and then slid the heat sherink and wire connectors on the existing wires and then slid the other ends of the wires into the wire connectors then crimped the ends of the connectors and then tried using heat on the heat shrinks but still used rubber electric tape over it. I clipped the new thermostat were the old one was and then reattached the freezer wall cover and plugged the refrigerator back in. 24 hours later I checked the temperature in the refrigerator and freezer and both are running a lot colder.

I watched You Tube on how to repair it the instructions that came were shit. I'm a stickler for wire colors being correct, could find that information in the instructions. Everything is on you tube I love you tube. The fix is is easy peasy. I'm not stupid eather there is nothing on that frig I could not repair if I can get parts even the compressor I can braze to. I know how it all works I never call repair people I will throw it all in the garbage if I can't get parts. That goes for TV's cars you name it. I have tools for all things.

I started look inside ,disconnected power, and open all possible compartments to see any burned part. Fortunately I fined a small part look like melted and then i went online and make my research .Then i ordered that part and change it.

I just took off the broken piece and replaced it with the brand new piece I got from Partselect.com. The part was like three bucks and shipping was a little over 5. I fixed the bottom shelf for under ten bucks. I didn't think I'd be able to find the part on the net, but a quick google search led me here. My wife was always nagging me to fix it. This is super easy. You just pop the old supports off vertically, pull the bar off of the broken one(s), replace them with the new one(s), then pop the whole thing back onto the door of the fridge by pushing down on both sides.

My upper and bottom air diffuser was missing.
Purchased both air diffuser and placed it.

The knob came in the plastic package. It was the correct part. I opened the package and placed the knob on the prongs. Now it works fine.

Thawed out freezer, I recommend laying a couple old towels in freezer to soak up melted ice. Replaced old thermostat with new part. Removed 2 screws, removed back plate, unplugged 2 connectors and cut 2 wires. Crimped in new thermostat and repositioned to original part location. Reconnected plugs as I reinstalled back plate. Installed 2 screws and connected power. Works like new! Trouble shooting and part installation video is very helpful, great site!

Before buying the part, I watched your video and realized it was extremely simple to remove and replace. Item was to take 7-10 days and I received it in 4. Took longer than 15 minutes because I had to move the fridge forward, get my tools and a vacuum, get a cup of coffee and get to it. Very easy and the video was exactly step by step. It took longer to vacuum all of the dust bunnies than to replace the part.

Honestly, I was in the market to buy a new refrigerator but now I believe I'll wait several more years. Thank you for your support.

I attempted unsuccessfully to glue this piece several times. Then my wife got the idea for me to search for a replacement on line. It took me less than 5 minutes to reassemble the door rack and reinstall in in our refrigerator. no tools were required. The part fit like the factory original. I wish all repair jobs were this straight forward and simple to do. Having the correct part makes it more than easy. We were both more than pleased with the price and the delivery time.
