Refrigerator side of side by side was freezing food
We bought the fridge used and immediately see why it was being sold. But ordered a new thermostat and with Part Select's instructional video was able to replace the thermostat. I should mention it was my first attempt making any repairs to a refrigerator. It was fairly straightforward project.

Temperature on refrigerator side was unstable. I was adjusting the thermostate control (center knob) frequently.
I followed the instructions shown in the on-line video for replacing the thermostate control. I had difficulty freeing the capilary tube from around the mechanical lever that controls the freezer side vent opening. I had to remove a screw that held the vent lever in place. This is a delicate activity. I was not happy with the way the on-line video delt with this particular issue. Otherwise, the video was right on and straight forward. The problem is fixed.

freezer was not consistent in keeping cold enough to keep itiems from defrosting. Fridge was not keeping up to temp. Noticed compressor would try to cycle but would cut out. Gave a Fonzerelli tap "ehhh" to the temp control and controls would kick on and work for short periods.
Watched the video link from the part order and the step by step instructions were as easy as the repair man showed. This is an easy do it yourself job that will fix the problem I describe with the unit. Ahhh a working freezer making and keeping ice once again.

Light switch inoperative
Remove inside door trim plate. Then removed three screws that held in the light assembly. The only difficult thing was reconnecting the temperature adjustment rod. After replacing this rod you must slide the temperature control slide to midway and this hold the rod in place while reinstalling the light assembly. If I were to do it again it would probably take me half as long.

Work sometime , sometime you have to tap around the thermostat area
Working from inside out . Remove left upper tube cover and then vent cover . Remove thermostat tube from around the vent . Remove knobs and front cover . Remove 4 hex screws , drop the whole unit enough to expose the left control rod , remove the rod retaining clip . Gently separate control rod from unit . Take the whole unit to working bench or table . Remove thermostat and bracket . Need to reuse bracket with new thermostat . Don't forget the clear plastic tube you have to reuse that as well . Be careful not to kink the thermostat tube . Reverse procedure , working from outside in . Good luck

Evap Fan Motor went bad
This was an easy part to find thanks to its universality. The only difficulty was the electric snap-on connection - had to use the old one and tie the wires to the new motor - that was easy. Hardest part was the new screws to mount to bracket weren't long enough. Had to find one in my screw jar to match threads that was long enough. Works Great!!!

Refrigerator would stop running but when touched it would run again
1. Unplug the electric plug. 2 Either be in a well lighted place or get a flashlite. 3. Remove all food from top shelf. 4. Remove the knobs from both controls by pulling on them or use pliers to grab the center and pull. 5. Use the thin bladed knife and gently slip the knife under the thin plastic panel that covers the two controls and pop it off. 6.Go in back of the control panel and remove the two hex headed screws that holds the panel onto the roof of the refrigerator.7. Locate the right hand control, and use a philips screw driver to remove two philips screws that hold the temperature control body in place. and remove the wires from the terminals by pulling them with a long nose pliers.8. Locate the white panels that cover the thermostat sensor and remove the screws holding them onto the frig body. slip the long thin tube out of the plastic piece it is formed to fit.9.Draw on paper the shape and measure the deminsions,of the long thin tube. Straighten out the tube and remove the plastic covering it. Now slip that tubing over the new piece.10. Form the tubing into the odd shaped holder and gently place all of the new asssembly against the frig wall and cover with the two white panels that you removed to get to the long sensor tube. 11. Reassemble the controls in the same order you took it apart. Plug the frig back in to the electricity and set the control on 5 and it should run. Watch for a period to hear the unit cycle on and off. You are a genius and have saved at least 150 dollars.
