1068652681 Kenmore Refrigerator - Instructions

I first unplugged the unit.
Secondly I unscrewed the back panel and removed it.
Third, I unplugged the fan, unscrewed it, removed it, and replaced it with the new fan motor.
I then plugged it to confirm that it worked and then put everything back together.

most of the time spent on repair was removing the food from freezer compartment other than that removal of a couple screws and disconnecting and reconnecting wires not a huge ordeal

Our trusty fridge is so old that I couldn't find any replacement parts on the manufacturer's website. Determined that compressor was not running, after researching problem on another site they recommended i try the condenser moor fan or motor, the defrost thermostat or defrost timer. . I was not satisfied with their recommendations. If I had tried their recommendations i would have likely gotten frustrated and spent upwards of $3000 to replace the 22 year-old hand me down unit. Thank you Parts Select for properly diagnosing my relay failure saving me a ton of money.

First took all frozen food out and than undid the screws that held back on--than cut the wires that held the piece and replaced it but also found that the plug was frozen so we thawed that out, that is why it took longer. Used air compressor to blow air and it broke it free and than we finished and put the food back after it got cold. So far it is working find and to beat all we received our part the next day so my husband could fix it that weekend--Thank you for the quick respond-

Removed old switch and installed new - but did not solve problem

This Job is a brease - less than 5 minutes.

Be carelful not to bend metal shelf rail -
Remove broken end cap and slide out metal rail.
You can clean parts before reinstalling.
I recommend slightly squeezing rail before reinstalling to tighten the contact points with plastic end caps.
slide metal rail into end caps (they should snap if contact is right) and secure with sticky tape (sticky tape is supplied with pair of end caps).
Reinstall rail with endcaps attached.
I even have one extra end cap left for another repair if neccessary!

Took out old pieces and popped new ones in, just like that!

Remove bottom of freezer by sliding out the gaskets on each side.

Remove back of freezer. 6 screws.

Remove fan cover. 4 screws.

Remove fan. 3 wires to disconnect. 2 screws to take out.

Install the fan. Connect the 3 wires. Fastened with 2 screws.
Put fan cover back on. 4 screws.
Put back of freezer back on. 6 screws.
Put bottom of freezer back in. Slide gaskets in on each side.

Removed the shelves from the freezer and the brackets holding it along with the covers for the light and plate for the ice maker (we don't have one). Pulled the ground wire from the tab off the port for the ice maker. Removed back plate exposing the fan motor and then the 4 hex screws holding on part #23 of the diagram which the fan motor is mounted to. Flipped it over, unscrewed the 2 hex screws from the fan motor mounting and removed it. Removed and replaced 3 wire connectors on new fan motor. Installed new fan motor and new grommets but used the old screws because the provided screws were larger. Pushed the new fan on to the motor shaft. Reassembled. Half hour most.

I removed all the shelves and the back shelf hanger. Removed two screws on the back plate.Pulled it out.Removed the screws that hold the fan housing. Pulled it out so I could write down the three wires color and location.Unpluged them.Removed the old fan and installed the new one.and put everthing back together.

Order the part from the Internet on Sunday, it mailed out on Monday and I received it on Tuesday. I unplugged the fan then undone 3 screws that held the fan bracket to the refrigerator pulled it out unscrewed 3 more nuts and replaced the fan on the bracket and I cut the old wire plug off the old fan and with 2 wire nuts put it on my new fan. Replaced the fan and bracket back on the refrigerator plugged it in and it works like a new refrigerator.

removed back cover, removed fan motor and replaced with new one. connected new power wires. worked right away

I took out the old socket by moving a clip. Reattached the electrical wires, clicked in the socket and that was it.

The best part was that it took 2 minutes to order the part on the internet, and the part was delivered in three days. Earlier than expected. it was packaged very well amd I was able to transport it to the refrigerator in our vacation home with out hiring a repairman or additional delay.Thanks.
