removed the screws and then replaced the rails. Easy

pluged the wire harness into the new socket from the back and snaped the socket in place.

Pulled the two wires out from the access hole in the lower part of the refrigerator. Put them in the spade connectors on the new switch, and pushed the switch into place.

I ordered the part one day and it was in my refrigerator by the next day. No tools required. You guys are incredible. This is the second time I ordered parts from you. You never disappoint!!

Wasn't sure what I would find underneath the old gasket, so I went slowly at first, but once the first side was off, the rest of the gasket came off quickly....and the metal track under it was clean and in good condition. After cleaning the areas where the gasket would seal, my daughter and I each started at a corner and placed the gasket into the track. Entire thing done in less than 10 mins. Piece of cake...only issue was a crease in the outer cushion area....I couldn't seem to smooth it with the warm water bath....it may uncrinkle with time...right now it is leaving a very small space when the door shuts. Saved me the expense of a new unit right now...hoping this takes care of the cooling issue I have with the unit keeping fresh veggies fresh.

I removed the gasket starting in one of the corners, until the gasket was completely removed.
I then replaced the gasket with a new one by starting in one of the corners and pressing it on to the track around the door.

Frig parts had been scavenged in an apartment complex. Restoring socket was only a matter of plugging in two spade contacts and clipping in socket.

Just as your video described, although due to the age of the fridge, it took a bit longer to remove the defective switch. Your video made this so simple, I can't imagine why we lived with a dark fridge for so long! I was ready to buy a whole new fridge, as repairmen are often nonexistent for small repairs. I took all of the creases out of the new gasket with hot water as described on the delivery box. I laid the gasket on the floor and let it cool while I took the refrigerator door off, laid it on a table, and removed the old gasket. I started the new gasket into the groove at one corner and pressed it into place by sliding my thumb along the gasket and seating it as I went. It was an extremely simple task which took about 2 minutes. The most time is consumed in removing and replacing the door

Using plyers Pulled old switch down and out. Put new one in and pushed new switch up into position. The switch plugs into the contacts, no wiring needed. Worked like a charm. You saved me 200 dollars GE repair bill. Thanks

I followed the instructions and had no trouble. The refrigerator now cycles on and off as it should. The iside temp. is much colder and I know there will be a good savings on electricty.

The hardest part was figuring out the part needed from so many little pictures. The actual repair, a piece of cake!

I started at the compressor and replaced the overload and the Ptcr first and that did not make the compressor start running again, so I replaced the capasitor and it still did not start, so I bit the bulett and replaced the Main Control Board and that is what I should have checked first, when I removed the old one I found a little burnt spot on the back that I could not see from the front. The new one did not look exactly like the old one, it had two more wire terminals than the old one, but just leave them blank and everything will work just fine!

Had to e-mail GE for electrical schematic. Checked voltages to compressor. Jumpered compressor to see if it would even come on. Found bad run capacitor. Fixed.

Gently pry out switch in door jam with screwdriver and pull both connectors off and put connectors on new switch then push switch back into the hole. Looked it up on the internet and video showed how to and also had link to new part, ordered and less than a week later the fridge is bright again. I have an older freezer also and it seems that they all use the same switches. Very Very easy
