Ice maker wouldn't shut off
unplug refrigerator. Remove Ice bin then remove the cover off the ice maker,(slides off from bottom then lift off top) no reason to remove ice maker completely. Remove center gear screw and remove main gear from Ejector blade. remove (3) screws holding the front plate. The motor and switches are attached to this plate from behind, do not remove the nut from the from the stud that adjusts the travel for the motor. The Motor and switches will come upt with the plate and the shut off arm will come out of a hole in the top right. Its ok just be careful when you put it back to get it in the hole. remove the old cam and replace it wint the new one and reassemble. Its a bit tricky to get all of the microswitches over the new cam just carefully wiggle the plate and cam and don't push too hard. once everything is lined up it should go back together and you can replace the screws and main gear :)

Needed new ice maker
Video is a great but still need to read the instuctions because there are parts you may need on the old ice maker. Saved myself a bit of money by not having to call a repairman. The process was very simple. I am glad I did it myself. Thank you Parts Select!

Leaking water from under the freezer
Our son found the part that was broken. He looked up the parts online and we ordered the part.
The part arrived quickly and he did the repair by uninstalling the old part and reinstalling the new one.
We were very happy with the service and availability of the parts from part select. Thanks
We now have the ice maker and filtered water and no more leaks.

ice maker not calling for water to make ice.
I removed the screws that held the unit in place, and also the screws that held a plate that covered where the unit plugs in. I unplugged the unit, and removed it. Put the new one in, reversing the steps. Turned the new unit on, and had ice in 45 minutes! Summer is coming, I need my ice maker! This is the second unit I have replaced on this refrigerator, the first one was not releasing the cubes. This second one was a different style than the first, but same install process.

No ice in hopper
Ice hopper had no ice in it. But water in door worked and if I added ice to hopper, it would dispense in door. I added water to ice maker but no ice was made. Replaced ice maker and all it required was to unplug harness and remove two screws with nut driver. Easy!

Water leak from bottom of refrigerator
Very simple repair. Part was easily ID'd from great photo on web-stie. Received part in 2 days. Removed old valve assembly (one screw) and reconnected electrical plugs (4 total) and water lines (4 total). Had some difficulty removing one water line from old assm and had to cut off with box cutter. Surprised that mfgr would not design in water trap to contain potential leaks and sound an alarm. Suffered medium damage to hardwood floor.

The ice maker needed replacing for a couple of years. Then, a couple of weeks ago, the water supply stopped serving both the ice maker, and the drink dispenser.
I ordered both a new replacement ice maker, and a new solenoid/pump. They were delivered to my house within one day and I had them installed in a matter of an hour. I had to use the power extension cord supplied with the ice maker.

The new "quick connect" hose couplings on the new pump are great.

Old ice-maker went SOUTH
If a 74 year old guy can install an ice-maker in a 20 + year old fridge in 20, or so, minutes it must have had good pictures and BIG PRINT. Working quite well at this time!

water dispenser on refrigerator door stopped working
simple - removed the cardboard cover plate at base of refrigerator back - removed existing water valve assembly - removed water lines from existing valve and plugged into new valve - same done with electrical connections - no tools needed for this part - re-attached valve bracket to refrigerator and closed her up - voila, water worked - probably spent 1/4 of that if repair guy had come out. sj

ICE MAKER gave out after 20 years
TURN WATER OFF TO REFRIDGE. TURN OFF ELECTRICITY.

Remove old ice maker (AFTER REMOVING THE BIG ICE TRAY) by disengaging two philips head screws but don't totally unscrew them. You must then totaly unscrew the bottom screw below the top two screws. Unplug the 5 head connection. (electricity)

Use adapter for the electrcity, etc from the box, (five head connection) Use the old plastic hose to hit the new cup. TIGHTEN TOP SREWS. LEVEL BY EYE. Turn the system on. Prime with some fresh water.

PS make sure that the light is on (green) and you will be in ice city. Be careful not to disengage the elcectic head when replacing the big ice tray.

refrigerator leaking water
I'm so glad I didn't have to call a repair man to come in and fixed this. I probably saved myself a couple hundred bucks. Fixing this was really easy. Make sure you unplug the fridge and turn off the water first. There is only one screw on the bottom right of the fridge that secures it to the box. On my fridge I needed a socket set to remove it. Once that is removed the entire water valve can be pulled out. Unplug the wiring harness from the old valve and put it on the new one. I did the water hoses one at a time. Unplug one from the old valve and plug into the new. . I think there are 4. The main water hose you need a wrench to loosen but its the same principle. After that turn on the water and inspect it for leaks. Then reattach it to the fridge with the one screw. Hope this helps.

My Icemaker arm was broken. It didnt move up or down by itself.
I removed the ice tub. Removed the screw on the left side that holds closed the section where the icemaker plug is connected. Disconnected the plug. Then removed the bottom right screw. I was then able to remove the Icemaker by unhooking it from the bcak freeze wall. I disconnected the icemaker from the fan gaurd. Removed the icemaker cover. unscrewed the 3 icemaker screws and opened up the chamber. removed the old Ejector Blade Drive Cam by removing the outer srew that hold the gear to the icemaker. changed the cam with the new one and reassembled everything.
