When the Part Select website predicted delivery in a couple of days, I doubted - I was prepared to wait a week or so. Incredibly, the part arrived the day after I ordered it. Replacing it was no problem, because the exploded view of the hinge area showed a clear and easy way to remove the broken part and slip in the new. It was just 2 inches of plastic, but if I hadn't found it so easily, the whole appliance would have been useless.

I used a roll around walker for jobs like this since it's difficult for me to get down on my knees nowadays. I'm 73 now. Using the blade of a sturdy knife I was able to pry one side of the handle cap loose. it was then a simple matter to remove the cap. Using a T15 torx driver I could now tighten the screw securing the lower right handle. I ordered the 2 spare handle caps because plastic parts such as these frequently break when they are removed. After tightening the screw I snapped one of the new end caps back in place. Job done!

The thermostat was set at 0 for the freezer, but at 37 for the refrigerator. The refrigerator was showing a temperature of 20 degrees and would not stay at 37. After learning the 3 choices it could be (air inlet cover, thermostat, and computer), I went for the air inlet on the basis of percentage of repair. With this particular refrigerator with this problem; this is repair has the highest chance of success. Nice on-line decision making tool! I went with choices of previous buyers and followed previous buyers instructions. All I needed was a couple of Phillips head screw drivers, and cleaning the dirt I was finding in the refrigerator was the biggest job.

The repair is a snap, you can watch the video and it will put you on the right path. My story is more about the service that Part Select gave me. I used a small box fan on low as a temporary fix. My model number was worn off from the box wine we store in that particular place. So I ordered the part based on looks, well it was wrong. Called Part Select and we talked, the nice lady on the other end said OH it must be this fan motor. Send us back that one, and I'll get this out too you. I'll credit your account for $7.99, and it cost me $8.99 to ship back the wrong part. Wow, the next day I received the new motor. They sent it overnight! I thought it would be 5-6 days! Unbelievable. I will use this company for any, and all my repairs.

Used a small screw driver to remove the damaged switch. Carefully unhooked the two wires and hooked the wires to the new switch. Pushed the new switch into place. Be careful that the wires do not pull back into the refrigerator wall. Took about 15 minutes. Works like New. Easy fix.

Pried the switch on the bottom with a flathead screwdriver, twisted it and the switch came out far enough to take it out by hand. The bottom of the switch has to be raised upward a little because the connectors are on top of the switch. Changed the wires from the old switch to the new one, one at a time. Insert the new switch. Saved a repair call, and probably a more expensive switch. Less then 15 minutes.

Located temperature sensor on condenser in the freezer section( as per instructional video ). Cut off bad sensor with wire cutter then soldered on the new sensor and sealed with electrical shrink wrap.

no brainer,watched the video,worst thing was to thaw the freezer,it was realy frosted,works like new,very happy thank you.

Pried out the old light switch, disconnected electrical, reconnected electrical in new switch, pushed new switch back into door.

Following the lead of other posted on this site, I removed the old air inlet cover after emptying the refrigerator. (That took the most time) 1. It's easiest if you remove all the shelves. 2. To access the upper two screws remove the top light cover - it has press in holders on each side. 3. As mentioned in other posts, there are four screws holding the Inlet Cover in place, 2 lower and 2 upper. 4. To get access to the lower two screws,you simply pop off the lower duct assembly. Take out the screws and remove the air duct. Unplug the electrical connector. 5. I had to use the added insulation spacer to seal the unit into the cold air opening. 6. Plug the new air inlet cover unit in and put back in place. 7. Install screws, put lower duct back in, and put light cover back in place. 8. Since shelves were all out, it was easy to give them a good cleaning and put they whole thing back together. 9. Relax and have a cold beverage of your choice. (I took old air inlet apart and lo and behold, the damper door was broken off. Problem solved.

I identified the noise was coming from the coils / and the fan. Cleaning the fan helped reduce the noise a bit but it still kept recurring. I ordered the part, which was really easy using the diagram on the website. The instructions and the video were really helpful and was able to remove the old motor and replace it with the new one with relative ease. While there I cleaned the fan blade and vacuumed the surrounding area. This whole repair went quite smoothly and has given me the confidence to take on other repairs before calling out the repairman.

Followed directions and it was quite easy.
